"E-eomma..."
Heejung pretended to be utterly surprised as her parents entered their house, examining every inch of it, then turned their attention back to their daughter upon realizing that the house was still in good shape despite not being the ones to choose it for them.
Sehun and Heejung acted as if they were in good terms, an arranged couple who got along pretty quickly by the way they sticked together the whole afternoon with the Kim's.
"Bunny!" Ayeong chirped, stretching her open for a hug. "I missed you so much." She said as Heejung reluctantly crashed into her mother's embrace.
"M-missed you too..."
"I see you two are getting along pretty well," Mr. Kim uttered, sending Sehun a knowing look.
"Very well, sir."
The latter awkwardly let out a chuckle, bobbing his head in total agreement. As Heejung's parents settled on the couch, the other two stood still beside it. Sehun kept giving nervous glances at the girl next to her who nonchalantly engaged with her parents, mostly her mother.
"I heard you were coming home earlier from school. That's why I thought it'd be the best time to come and surprise you," Ayeong said, giddily clasping her hands in delight.
"Yeah, we celebrated the school's foundation,"
"Really? How long has it been?"
"47 years."
Her mother gasped in utter surprise. It has been a long time since they personally engaged with the school they pioneered. Surely, time flies by so fast.
"Have you eaten dinner yet?" Heejung asked, noticing that they didn't bring with them food as the clock ticked 6.
"Oh, yes!" Exclaimed Ayeong, taking a glimpse of her husband who was only wordlessly scrutinizing the interior of the house. "We just wanted to have a chat with the two of you. You know, get to know how you've been doing,"
"Ahh,"
"So," Mr. Kim finally spoke, catching the two off-guard of his bass voice. "What have you been up to these days, Sehun? Oh, and why don't you kids sit down,"
"Yeah, sit down. Relax, you two." Ayeong chuckled.
Hesitant, Heejung and Sehun exchanged wary looks before carefully plopping down on the single sofas that were at the left and right side of the sofa Heejung's parents were situated.
"Uhm.. we've been busy, preparing for our repackaged album."
"I heard Lee Soo Man had talked to the both of you. About the news that's spreading in the internet?"
"Ah, yes, sir." Replied Sehun, putting his palm flat on his lap that made a clapping sound. "They've already given a statement to the public that it was a false rumor. Said I only attended a close friend's, uhm, funeral."
