Famila Cortez - a family of mafia established by John Cortez, Marcus' grand father. The mafias' ranking are chess styled as the late founders favorite game.The king is the leader and of course the Queen is his counter part. The names that will be given are the names of the present member.

The rankings in the mafia are based on a persons skills and intelligence. The higher the rank the stonger the person is. But there are special persons that are not part of the ranks the assassins , they are the kings most trusted persons. There are only two assassins one for the queen and the other for the king. The assassins must dedicate his or her life inly to his owner. Andreya Kristal Smith (lady catastrophe) is the queens Assassin while Bryan Judic Moldovan is the kings assassin.
As you can see, the black and white pieces are in the opposite gender. This is so because the white are the queens pieces while the black are the kings.
The freshmen members of the famila are considered as platoons and the pawns are the platoon leaders. Platoons are divided into two; the passers and the newbies. The passers are those who already passed the tests while the newbies are those who are newly recruited. The Bishops are responsible for the tests while the Pawns are for their training.
The Rook (towers)- they are the mafias tech-guys. They are responsible for the cctv's , securities etc.
The Bishops- they are the person who do the investigations. They are the ones who stalks or follows a certain person by the king or queens command.
The Knights- they are the king/queens arms. These are the person who can become the king/queens representative.
The Pawns- the pawns are king/queens most trusted men aside from the others. It doesn't mean that they are the pawns there are weak. Pawns are the person that are only specialized in one area. For example, Aira Aleina Sandoval is specialized for poisons. They are the ones who train the platoons.
The king/ Queen- the head, leaders , alpha,etc. They are the mafias brain.
*Note- the members must wear a designated miscellaneous to identify their rank
