Chapter Five

　

Annora's blood ran cold.

She tensed in Ryan's hold, Alpha Robert was forcing his way into her mind. She was doing the best she could to block him, but he was her Alpha. The claim didn't help matters much either.

Pulling away from Ryan she looked to him as fear took hold. Sensing her distress he was instantly alert.

"Annora what's wrong?" he asked alarmed.

"He knows I'm gone!"

She didn't have to say his name. they both knew who she was talking about. Ryan paled while Michelle gave a shocked gasp from the couch.

"You have to go!" she yelled, desperately trying to get Annora to her feet.

Annora thought she meant head back to the mansion but her next words shocked her.

"They've probably already caught your sent and are on there way here. You might still have time to get away! You have to go Annora! Go!"

What?

Michelle and Ryan seemed to have the same idea. Ryan grabbed her hand and started dragging her to the door. "She's right you've gotta go. Ill hold them off as long as I can." his body was already shacking ready to shift.

"What? No!" Annora tried to pry her hand away.

They were outside of the cabin now. The cold acceptance on Ryan's face terrified her. They'd kill him for this! Not just Ryan but Michelle too.

This was more than she could handle right now.

Ryan grabbed her by the shoulders and gave her a quick shake.

"No? Annora your wasting time! The Alpha will have patrol here any minute, you have to leave! Do you want to go back? To him?"

No she didn't, but if she left she'd be a Rogue. No pack, no home. Could she do it?

"No Ryan please! don't do this." He was going to get himself killed and it would be all her fault.

Ryan gave her a serious look and pulled her close to him. They were standing on the edge of the wood now. He gently cupped her cheek, giving her a small smile.

"Annora don't worry about me," he said stroking her face. "Everything will be fine. I wont let that monster get you. You have to go now ok? Run and keep running. Do you hear me Annora? Go!" he yelled pushing her towards the woods. Annora was in a daze, this couldn't be happening.

"Ryan," she pleaded

"Look at me Annora," he said pulling her back to him. She wiped the tears from her face and looked into his eyes. She couldn't place the emotion there, but whatever it was it made her feel like blushing.

'Your so beautiful you know that?" he said almost to himself. Hearing paws in the distance his face hardened. Suddenly his lips were on hers, crushing himself to her.

Annora was too shocked to respond. She could feel the desperation in the kiss and it broke her heart.

Ryan pulled away only to place a soft kiss upon her forehead. "Go," he whispered.

"Go!" he shoved her to the woods just as two wolves came from the other side. She watched in amazement as Ryan shifted into his grey wolf and attacked.

"I Love You," he said through the mind link.

Seeing more wolves coming, she turned and ran. Shifting into her white wolf, she ran faster than she ever had. She heard a blood curdling scream that was cut short. Michelle.

Annora had to harden herself from the pain. Her friends were giving there lives for her, she prayed it just wasn't in vain.

Annora hardened her heart and ran faster.
