Chapter Six
Annora ran all night. She ran until she couldn't run anymore. She had run out of tears hours ago, but the pain wouldn't go away. She would never see her friends again. They were gone. The pack link had broken as soon as she had come to terms with leaving. She was alone now.
Annora had stopped when she came to a beautiful lake around noon the next day. She had run away in her wolf form so she had no clothes, which meant she'd have to stick to the woods. Humans would question a giant wolf in town, or a nude girl sprinting from street pole to street pole. Being in the woods was a lot more dangerous, she could easily trespass onto another packs land. If caught she was screwed. Annora was a rogue now, and rogues were considered a threat by all packs. Her pack killed rogues on sight and she was sure others weren't much different. Wait, scratch that- Imperial wasn't her pack anymore. She didn't have one.
She knew she was at least three states over but it wasn't far enough. She felt as though they could come crashing through the trees at any minute.
Taking a look at her surroundings, she noticed how beautiful it was here. Her guess would have to be Colorado. Since Imperial pack was in Idaho, she defiantly wasn't far enough. She knew a little of the other packs, in training they learned of all the neighboring packs and the great wars but she had no idea if she was on, or close to another packs territory.
What was she going to do?
She sighed and nuzzled her head back down on her paws. Sleep. She needed sleep, even if only for a few hours. After some much needed rest she'd try to get closer to a town and see if maybe just maybe she could find some sort of clothing.
Annora woke up and immediately looked to the sun. it was around 4 maybe 5 in the afternoon. She had slept longer than she intended to. Forcing her sore legs to move, she gingerly got up.
After running for another hour or so she spotted a small town up ahead. Staying in the shelter of the woods, she observed the town. There wasn't many people about but Annora didn't want to take any chances. The wind had started to pick up and the clouds were getting darker, more ominous. A storm was defiantly coming. Great.
When another gust blew by Annora, she caught a faint scent of something she'd been dreading..
Werewolves.
The scent was faint but it was defiantly there. Annora didn't know if she had trespassed or not but she wasn't sticking around to find out.
She took off running I the opposite direction, keeping the town in sight.
Not 20 minutes later did she find herself face to face with another wolf.
He was twice her size and black as night.
Annora froze as a threatening growl erupted from him. She was a good fighter but she had never actually been in a fight. Only training.
The wolf tilted his head to the side studying her.
His intense gaze made her nervous, if he wanted to fight why didn't he just attack already?
Instead of attacking he shifted in front of her.
Standing there naked as day.
He was toned to perfection. Brown hair and black eyes. Annora wasn't positive if the black eyes were his wolf or his natural color but she had to admit other than the hostile look on his face he was actually quite handsome.
"Shift," he demanded.
No way was that happening.
Annora shook her head, which caused him to let out another growl.
