The Alpha Meets His Mate
Prologue
Elizabeth stared down at the beautiful baby girl in her arms. She could hardly contain her joy; a girl.
Her mate, Titus, the Alpha of the Alpine Pack sat next to her with a slight frown upon his handsome face. She gigged.
“Don’t worry love, we’ll have a son too. She’s our first pup.”
Titus smiled at his mate, “ I know, its just unheard of for an Alpha to have a daughter,” seeing the frown beginning on her face he quickly added, “but I am pleased.”
Elizabeth smiled, looking back down at her newborn daughter.
“What shall we name her, Titus?” she asked, tracing her figure along her daughters beautiful face.
Titus chuckled softly, “I don’t know. I had only picked out male names.” he replied.
Elizabeth thought for a moment, “Annora,” she stated. “We will call her Annora.”
Looking at her mate for approval she noticed his eyes were closed. Placing her hand upon his cheek, she rubbed his lips with her thumb.
“That was my mothers name,” he said without opening his eyes.
“I know,” she replied.
Titus placed his forehead against hers breathing in her sent for a moment.
“Thank you,” he said in a low voice.
She smiled again, giving him a quick kiss.
“I love you Elizabeth.”
“I love you too,” she said cuddling him closer.
Titus suddenly tensed at her side.
“What’s wrong?” she asked.
Titus quickly got off the bed, a low threatening growl coming from his lips. Elizabeth was instantly alarmed, noticing his eyes changing from blue to black. “Titus what wrong?” she asked more concerned than before.
“They’re here,” he growled.
Elizabeth’s heart sank. The Imperial Pack. Why would they come now, when they had stayed away for so long? Elizabeth knew the war was far from over, but why now. She hugged her daughter closer as tears began to fall from her eyes.
Titus put his hand on her cheek moving her face to his. “I have to go,” he said in a low tone, hardening his voice his said, “I wont let them hurt you.” his lips claimed hers in a hard unyielding kiss.
The kiss scared her. It was almost if he was saying goodbye. After breaking the kiss, he placed a soft kiss upon the babies head and turned to walk away.
Elizabeth cried out. “Please Titus! Please come back!”
Pausing at the door he said, “Be ready love, for anything. I'll send your guard, but if I do not return….run.”
Before she had time to speak he was out the door. She could already here the fight taking place outside. Her heart was beating out of control, they hadn’t been prepared for an attack, especially not with the surprise arrival of her daughter. Would the wolves had time to fight, or had they been completely taken by surprise? Titus seemed to receive some warning, but she wasn’t sure how much it had helped. A knock sounded at her door bringing her out of her dark thoughts. “Luna,” her guard Nigel was standing in her doorway looking pale and dirty. He must have already been out in the fight.
Elizabeth nodded her head to him, she was too upset to speak.
“I will be right outside the door with the other men,” pausing for a moment he added, “Luna all will be well, we had a few moments to prepare.”
