A/N: Sorry for the late update. I haven't felt very motivated lately, and I'd like to thank anyone who's reading this😊
You're doodling lazily in science, when your teacher calls on you.
"(y/n), what are the two types of bonds we are currently learning about?"
You look up at the teacher and smile, just because you were drawing doesn't mean you weren't listening.
"Covalent and ionic," you say, returning back to your sketch of a four-headed dragon.
"Good. (c/n), which is the strongest?"
You look up, your eyes meeting your crush's. Even if your teacher had gone over it, you doubt he'd know.
Hurriedly you scribbled the word 'covalent' over the top of your dragon.
"Co-covalent?" he said, stuttering.
"That's correct," your teacher, Ms. Collins said, "A covalent bond occurs when two atoms share their valance electrons to..."
(c/n) slips you a small piece of paper.
Thanks
You smile at him, and scribble 'you're welcome' on the back.
He glances at the paper you passed back to him, it's lucky he sits right across from you.
(c/n) hands a new piece of paper to you, pretending to take notes on the differences and similarities between ionic and covalent bonds.
"What're you drawing?" the paper says.
"A dragon," you reply, turning the paper so he can see.
"It's nice."
"Thanks."
"(y/n), name a biogeochemical cycle that occurs on land," Ms. Collins asked you.
Now this you knew she didn't go over.
"Biogeo-what now?" (c/n) asked, saving you from the spotlight.
Alex, who sits next to you, gave a small laugh.
"Biogeochemical cycle," she said, still staring at you.
"I thought we were learning about chemical bonds," he continued, you didn't know where he was going with it, but you'd kiss him for it if you could.
"(c/n), everything in science is connected, also I'm not talking to you, so would you please go outside."
(c/n) smiled as he walked out of the classroom.
"Now then, (y/n), your answer?"
"Um, phosphorus?" You guess.
"Wrong, the phosphorus CYCLE on the other hand would have been an accurate answer, though."
"What?!"
You could help, but voice your shock. She was insane!
"It is obvious you weren't paying attention in class," she says, "You may go sit outside with (c/n) and work on this."
She hands you two worksheets.
With a glare you take the papers and leave the room.
"What happened?" (c/n) asked.
"She kicked me out for not paying attention," you said handing him the worksheet.
"Aw, that sucks," he says, glancing at the worksheet.
"Sorry, about you getting in trouble, though."
"Don't worry about it, now we're even."
"Right," you mumbled.
"Covalent bonds," he read aloud, "Creative title, am I right?"
You chuckled, reading the directions.
"Pretend your hand is a carbon atoms. Your fingers, not including your thumb, are the valance electrons."
Before you go any further, (c/n) intertwined his fingers with yours, holding your hand. You look at him, surprised.
"That's what it says to do next," he says, pointing at the next paragraph.
"I'm pretty sure you're supposed to do it with your own hand, and not use your thumb," you say, laughing slightly.
"This makes the bond stronger, though," he says, yanking you towards him.
"Have you two finished the worksheet, yet," Ms. Collins asks making you jump. When did she get here?
"We're working on it," (c/n) says, holding up your hands.
Ms. Collins raised an eyebrow, but left for the classroom.
You and (c/n) hurriedly filled out the worksheet. Still holding hands the entire time.
"Hey, (y/n)?" (c/n) calls out.
"Yeah?" you reply.
"Um, er, do you what the answer to number three is?"
You glance at his paper.
"You got it right," you say, smiling at him.
"Just making sure," he says.
Man, did you want to touch his hair.
As though reading your thoughts he removed his hat, running a hand through his hair.
"It's hot," he says.
"Not as hot as you," you mumble.
"What?"
"Nothing."
The two of you awkwardly stare at your finished worksheets.
"So, uh, (y/n) which bond do you like better?"
"Neither," you say, looking over your answers one last time.
"I like covalent," he says.
"Really, why?"
"Because it means I get to hold hands with you," he says.
You look down at your still linked hands, heat rising to your face.
"Um, (y/n)?"
"Yeah?"
"Er... Never mind."
"What, no. Now I'm curious."
He looks away, running his fingers through his hair once more. Unable to resist you stroke his soft hair.
He looks at you.
"There was a, uh, leaf."
"Do it again," he says.
"What?"
"It felt nice."
"Oh, um, okay."
You try to hide your inner excitement as you touch his hair once more.
"Your hair's really soft," you say.
He smiles.
"I'm sure your's is softer," he says, holding a strand of your hair in his fingers.
Your eyes meet, and you can feel his hot breath. His soft lips brushed up against yours.
"You didn't slap me, so I'm guessing you liked it," he says, grinning at you.
"I can't say the same," says Ms. Collins, nearly giving you a heart attack.
"Have you two finished the worksheets I gave you?" she asked.
"Oh, er, yeah," (c/n) said pulling away from you, and handing her both worksheets.
The two of you walk back into class, but before you get in, you sneak a quick kiss on (c/n)'s lips and a smile.
