Percy woke up the next morning still in his wet, sandy beach clothes. He whined and slid out of bed, landing in a heap on the floor. He pried himself off the ground and headed into his bathroom, stripping down and stumbling into the shower, hoping it would wake him up. He took a quick shower and then got dressed and headed downstairs, ready to make some waffles and drown his sorrows in maple syrup. He was surprised to find the kitchen empty, with just a note from his mom saying she'd gone to work, and no Casey in sight. She must still be sleeping, probably tired from all the fun they had yesterday.

He then plugged in his phone to their speaker and started to play Troye Sivan really quietly, as not to wake Casey. After that, he busied himself around the kitchen, humming quietly along to the music and gathering the ingredients he needed for the waffles. He mixed all of the stuff together, shaking his hips as he mouthed along to the song while pouring the batter into the cooker.

While the waffles cooked, stuffed to the brim with chocolate and butterscotch chips, Percy scrolled through his phone. Suddenly, a text came through.

Annabeth🙅🏼💔-
Please, we need to talk.

Percy-
No.

Percy left it at that, feeling like the one word summed up his entire feelings towards Annabeth right now. He was having such a good morning too. The text made him realize that he would soon have to tell Casey what's going on between them. He was lucky enough to distract her during yesterday, keeping off her phone and away from texts from Holly. He needs to figure out a way to do that today too. Or someway to get Holly to stop texting her?

The waffle timer dinged and jolted Percy from his depressing thoughts. Well, those will have to be saved for a note time- he's got some waffles to eat!

Casey wandered downstairs soon after Percy finished his waffles. Percy could tell that something was bothering her.

"What is it, Case?" he asked gently.

"I don't know, it's just that Holly hasn't texted me in a while and I'm worried about our relationship."

Percy winced and looked at his sister with a pitying face.

"Case, we need to talk."

Percy and Casey sat down on the couch and Percy turned towards his sister.

"Casey... Annabeth and Holly have lying to us."

"Wh-what?" Casey whimpered, on the verge of tears.

"Casey... They have no parents... Annabeth is Casey's legal guardian."

"That's- that's.... Not that bad, Perce. It's not that big of a lie. They were probably embarrassed, that's all."

"I...I guess you're right. Wow, I was just so shocked I couldn't think clearly. I.. I have to apologize!"

Percy runs out of the room before Casey could even say another word.

A/N- Sorry this is so late! I've kinda lost inspiration for this story, and I haven't had much time to write. School has been taking so much of my time and it's been really tough. Comment your support for this story to keep it going. I like it, but I've had an extreme case of writers block and no time. I hope you'll forgive me.

Bye my little fanpeople!
