Chpt. 17

"Elena where have you been?"

Elijah asks as soon as I walk through the front door. I don't even acknowledged the fact that he's there I just continue to walk up the stairs to my room. I open my fist and look down at the little vile of liquid, one drink and that's all it takes.

"What is that?"

I jump at the sound of Elijah's voice from the doorway. I hesitate for a moment and decide it's best that he knows the truth.

"Poison"

A look of disgust and horror wash over his face. "What's wrong with you!? How could you even think about killing your own child!? My child!"

He's right. How could I even make a decision like this without consulting him first. However, nothing he says is going to change my mind.

"You're right. I'm being selfish, but my minds made up. I'm sorry Elijah."

I quickly drink the nasty liquid before he can stop me. He grabs me by the throat and pins me against the wall.

"I've stood by you through everything! And this is the thanks I get!...."

I see tears starting to form in his eyes. I hate myself. Im a awful person. I deserve this.

"Don't ever speak to me again. If I even hear you utter my name. I will end you.... you're dead to me."

He lets go of me and I fall to the floor gasping for breath. I want to cry. I need to cry. But the tears won't come out. So I just sit there in silence.

Klaus's POV

I walk through the front door and by the look on Elijah's face I can tell something is apparently wrong.

"She told you."

I say bluntly and his face tightens

"You did this. This is your fault!"

He says and I'm taken back.

"You persuaded her to kill her own child! To insure your own safety! That was my child Klaus!"

"I didn't persuade her to do anything... She chose this."

"Oh so you expect me to believe that you had nothing to do with her decision, you didn't influence her at all."

I roll my eyes and continue to bite my tongue. There's so many things that I want to tell him. So many things that I want to gloat about but I won't because I don't want to make this any worse for Elena by getting in a fight with my brother.

"I know this may be hard for you to believe Elijah but she chose to kill the child because she knew that if she didn't... I would... I would die. And she doesn't want to live an eternity without me. Sorry, but it looks like for once in your life, you don't get the girl."

I say harshly and start towards the stairs to Elena's room.

"What's that supposed to mean?"

He asks. I smirk and turn around.

"Over the course of our life time you have always taken what's mine. Tatia, Katherine. But not Elena, she's different and you can't stand it. Admit it Elijah... you're jealous."

He grabs me by collar and slams me on the stairway.

"If that was the case, Elena would have been carrying your child instead of mine."

I grit my teeth at his remark and quickly place my hand on either side of his head, snapping his neck. His limp body rolls down the stairs and I make my way towards Elena's room.
