NIALL’S POV

The night smelled like fun. We had a lot of booze in our hotel room, the coach just came to check up on us, and we knew he was gonna come just once more, and the guys were planning on sneaking out and going to a party. On our way there, in the bus, I sat next to Connor and we started talking about the usual things, it all went back to normal and no one mentioned our fight. It was a good conversation, I missed those. It was all going good, at least until Jake asked him to swap seats so that the two of us could have a chat. He said he wanted to get some things straight. I knew the trip would be awful because I’d have to be in his vicinity, and all I wanted to do was avoid him. I wanted to tell him to fuck off and to stop looking at Y/N in college. He couldn’t have her, there’s no way in hell I’d let it happen. He didn’t even want her, I didn’t know what he was doing.

-Listen, mate, we’re best friends since we’ve been kids and a girl isn’t worth the fight, right?-he put his hand on my shoulder like we were cool.-I acted like a jerk, yeah, and you did, too, but let’s put it behind us and just hang out again, all together. Me and Connor miss you.

I thought about saying no, but I wanted to get him off my back. I didn’t enjoy fighting with him, I have to say I missed the boys. We used to be such good friends, they were the closest people I had and I didn’t want to throw it all away. Y/N was right about that, but I’d never admit that to her. However, I wasn’t sure if we could be as close as we used to be. The thing was – I didn’t want him around Y/N again. I could put up with him, I was used to him and his crude remarks, I made those, too, but I didn’t want to hear a single one about her and he’s not exactly someone who can keep his mouth shut about anything.

-Okay, but keep your hands off of her. We’re cool.-I nodded and patted his shoulder angrily. 

-Don’t let a girl split us up, hey, champ. That’s not us, bros over hoes.-he winked.-So what are the plans for tonight? I’ve got a Jack Daniel’s here, but the girls are up for tequila and we all know what tequila does to loose girls. Maybe Connor’s gonna get laid for a change. 

He continued talking as if nothing had happened. It all went back to normal in a second, even Connor joined us as we made plans for the night. I shared the room with the two of them and I thought that it wouldn’t be a problem, especially since we were “all good“ all of a sudden. All they talked about was the party we were going to and I got a bit excited about it myself. I knew everyone was gonna be drunk and there’d be a lot of horny girls all over us, but somehow that didn’t mean much to me. I just wanted to have some fun with them, I didn’t do that in a long time.

The bathroom was one of those shared ones and I had to go take a shower down the hall. On my way back, I ran into the cheerleaders who were already tipsy, even though it was ten pm and the coach could come back to check up on us any minute. They weren’t exactly the brightest girls around, at least most of them.

-Hey, Niall, why don’t you join us?-one of them shouted as I walked past them with a towel wrapped around my waist. 

-I’ve got something to do.-I lied and they all giggled.

-We can do it for you.-one of them shouted from the room, making them all giggle again. 

-Listen, Niall, tonight we’re having body shots, and since you’re the captain, you get to drink from our belly buttons first.-Lily against the wall and looked at me with that face girls make when they’re creaming their panties over you. 

The last thing on my mind was getting it on with one of these whores, but I couldn’t say I had a girlfriend, because I obviously didn’t. So I just told them I’ll see them later and walked back to the room. Jake and Connor were sitting down on the floor talking and I walked back in and threw the towel on the floor before I put on my boxers. They’ve seen me naked a ton of times, and I saw them, we shower together after every game. I had no problem getting naked in front of people.
