December 19th: Day 4
To my surprise, I had had a lot of fun the day before with the decorating. It did help that Lilly was the cutest little girl ever and having Bilbo around just made everything even better. After Lilly had said I wasn't like Sean's last girlfriend, I quickly told her I was just his friend. I couldn't have her being sad over the fact that her brother would probably not want to see me again after Christmas.
The thing that did scare me yesterday was the fact that I had actually had fun. I had also felt extremely comfortable in their house, with them. It was weird and it was scary and I actually just didn't want to think about it. But I did.
I kept thinking about how much fun it had been to decorate the house with more than a hundred lights, to sneak some chocolate away from Sean with Lilly, to have Bilbo to cuddle with, to have that delicious pizza we had for dinner and to dance around to Christmas music with the three of them. Me, dancing to Christmas music. On Sean's third day.
"Morning honey," my dad smiled at me as I walked downstairs to see my parents were already having breakfast.
"Morning," I smiled as I kissed both of their cheeks. It was 10am, but I had already showered. The only thing left to do was eating breakfast and getting a text from Sean.
I poured some cereal and milk into a bowl and got myself a cup of tea. I took one of my favorite books out of the bookcase that stood between the dinner table and the kitchen and sat down. As I was about to open the book, my phone buzzed. I could see my mom looking up immediately with a smile on her face and my dad, who had probably heard everything from my mother the day before, had a smirk on his.
Hi. Have you bought your Christmas presents yet? I have been bad and I didn't do it. Would you mind joining me? Sean.
I decided to not be too eager with replying and ate my cereal first. I also read the first chapter of the book and drank every sip that was in my cup of tea before I replied. Food and books went before guys, always.
I haven't. I bet I'm on Santa's naughty list now. And no. Noelle.
It may look a bit rude, but it wasn't and he'd probably see that. Unlike me, he didn't mind looking too eager to reply.
Great, I'll see you at the mall in 30 minutes then? Or is that too far to walk for you? Then I'll just come pick you up. By the way, you believe in Santa? Have I gotten you that far already? *does a celebratory dance* Sean.
I couldn't help but laugh at his text and quickly replied.
You can come pick me up. It's a 10 minute walk to the mall. I live on Kingston Road, the very Christmassy decorated house is mine. And no, Santa is not real. Stop dancing, you probably look insane. Noelle.
I stood up from the table, taking my bowl and cup with me. I put both of them in the dishwasher and coughed to get my parents' attention. When they looked up, I shot them a quick smile. "Sean's probably picking me up in 15 minutes or so. We're going Christmas shopping."
While my mom just smiled at me, my dad looked a little suspicious. "Can we have a word with this young man when he comes here?"
My eyes widened. "Dad, come on. He's just a friend. He's not my boyfriend. No need for investigation."
Before he could say anything else I shook my head and headed upstairs to grab some stuff. I needed a big bag for all the presents, my phone and my wallet. I didn't need to be packed with a hat, a scarf and gloves since we were probably going to be in and out of shops.
