December 21st: Day 6
"She is everything you'd think when you hear she is Farah's sister."
I plopped down on Zoë's couch and sighed. "She is the total opposite of me in every way, except that she is also tall and blonde, ugh."
"And we should be worried, because?" she sat down next to me and raised her eyebrow.
"If that is the type he dates, then—" I stopped talking when I realized I was rambling and not thinking about what I was saying. I knew Zoë was loving this and that she was going to use it whenever she wanted.
"Then you are worried because you want to date him? And you are not his type then?" she smirked at me, waiting for an answer. "What happened the last three days when I was away?"
"Nothing happened," I said, "I don't know why I said that."
She suddenly got all serious and sat up straight in front of me. "Noelle, do you like Sean?"
I laughed hysterically as she said that. "Me? Liking Sean? Come on Zoë, you know I never like anyone. You always tell me I have high standards and that that is why I don't like any guy at our school. It would make no sense if I liked him, I mean-I mean.."
"You're rambling again," she laughed at me. "Noelle, it's not bad to have a crush. It may be a little quick to have a developed a crush after only 4 days of which you only talked to him in real life for 3 days," she shot me a smile, "but it's not strange. You have been spending much time with him."
"I never have crushes," I stated as I crossed my arms. "You know why."
"Yes, because you have high standards," she laughed. "He has to be taller, older, smart, nice, not too much of a softy so he can take you and your temper.. I could go on for a few more minutes," she teased. "But Noelle, isn't it the case that Sean matches all of those high standards?"
I groaned and hid my face in my hands. "He may, I mean he freaking studies Medicine for god's sake!" I groaned again, shaking my head. "But it has only been 4 days Zoë, that's not healthy."
"Oh, get over yourself," she laughed, "that doesn't matter. If it feels good, it's never unhealthy."
"It doesn't matter at all," I said as I stood up to get us some drinks, "he doesn't like me back anyway."
Zoë was the one who groaned now and I was sure she also rolled her eyes. "I am glad you admitted to liking him, but don't think he doesn't like you. He was the one who asked you out or at least in some kind of way asked you to spend time with him, he is really nice to you, you met his little sister and he is just gorgeous."
I laughed at her last sentence, but shook my head. "No way Zoë. I don't fit in with model-like girls like Vanessa."
She sighed. "Alright, I'll admit it is weird that he dated her, but you don't know the whole story. You are way better than girls like Vanessa, Noelle, and it's not like you couldn't be a model. You are tall and skinny, you would only have to give up the fast food."
I sighed, pouring hot water into two mugs. "Let's just forget I ever said this and continue with our movie marathon. Sean hasn't texted me either, so maybe there are no plans today." I put the tea bags in the mugs and put them on the coffee table before plopping down on the couch again. "He's probably back with Vanessa or something."
"Oh, my God, stop it!" Zoë laughed. "You are overthinking this way too much, Noelle. You rescued him yesterday, he was thankful for it, that means he does not like Vanessa. He'll text you in no time, it's only 11am." She nudged me and I gave her a soft glare. She knew I didn't mean it like that.
