December 20th: Day 5
I had slept in. School had been a stress machine and had caused me to have a lack of sleep. Every day I was trying to sleep a little longer than usual, so I could catch up to how much sleep I should have had the past half year. It was hard though. Having Christmas break meant I could fill my day with more fun things instead of homework and that ended up with me going to bed way too late.
It was 11 o'clock when I got out of bed and when I checked my phone, I saw I had a text.
Hi. I am taking Lilly for a day out today, but can we hang out at the Christmas market in town tonight? I'll pay for food. Sean.
I smiled and put my phone back on my night stand. I got out of bed with pain in my heart and made my way to the bathroom. I took a shower, washed my hair and got dressed. While I sang my favorite shower performance songs, my stomach grumbled. Then I realized I had almost skipped breakfast.
I took my phone with me downstairs and quickly made myself a bowl of yoghurt and strawberries. I sat down and took my phone. I continued eating my breakfast while I opened Sean's text again and tried to reply with just one thumb.
Well, I can't say no to free food, can I? Can you come pick me up around 6 then? Have fun with Lilly and give her a hug from me. Noelle.
Not really having anything to do for 6 hours now, I decided it would be time to finish my presents. My parents were out to work, fortunately, so I could wrap everyone's presents and even finish the second part of my present for Sean.
Getting excited, I grabbed everything I needed. The wrapping paper, transparent tape, scissors and of course, the presents. I also managed to find some cute decorations and labels to write their names on. All of my mom's presents were already inside a gift box, so I only had to make a cute bow to put on top of it. Everyone else's presents were pretty easy to wrap, except for Gabby's pillows.
I only had Sean's onesie left to wrap and I still had to make the second part of his gift. I had bought a cute jar with Christmas decorations and I was planning to fill it with pieces of paper. I planned to write '100 reasons to smile' on pieces of red and green paper, to keep everything in the Christmas spirit. Things like 'Lilly' and 'Christmas' were of course very obvious and normal, so I had decided to also put some stupid ones in there.
When I was on half of the 100 reasons, my phone rang. I picked it up without looking as I was still working on my reasons and I had so many ideas that I couldn't stop. "Hello?"
"Hi, Noelle." It was Sean.
"Oh, hey. What's up?"
"Not much, Lilly wanted to say hi to you. She's mad I didn't invite you to come to the park with us."
I laughed. "Aw, put her on the phone."
It took a couple seconds, but I could suddenly hear Lilly's sweet voice through my phone. "Noelle! Why aren't you here?"
"I wasn't invited," I said with the most serious tone I could make up. I was just adding some fuel to the fire.
"Seany! How could you not invite Noelle? We could have played princess together!" she yelled at her older brother.
"Oh, don't worry Lilly, I'll see you soon enough. Don't be angry with your brother."
"But he didn't invite you. That's mean."
"We can play princess some other time, and watch Barbie movies together."
"Oh yes, could we? That would be awesome!"
"Of course, darling. Can you hand Sean back for a second, please?"
"Sure!" she said it like she wasn't mad at him anymore. I was glad I had helped that out of the world.
