We went on a movie date today.

As we purchased our tickets, the lady at the counter asked how I was doing.

All that I could muster up was a smile and a thumbs up.

"Your girl here doesn't really talk much, does she?" The lady murmured to you in wonder.

The way you responded to her made you sound as if you were ashamed to even be seen with me.

But I had no idea; it could have been a misinterpretation on my part.

"It's not that ma'am, it's just that my girl isn't able to speak."

"Oh, so she's a mute?"

The woman shook her head at me in sympathy and we went on with our day.

During the movie, you reassured me and cheered me up by holding my hand and whispering sweet nothings in my ear.
