Each day is filled with the absence
Of the words you cry at night
And I wonder what would happen
If you let them out into the light
Tell the world of all the lyrics
Of the songs you haven't sung
And the stories that you trapped
When you learnt to bite your tongue
Speak words you've left unspoken
Out of fear that you were wrong
Raise your voice so we can hear you
You've been silent for too long
The world appears so broken
And although it's made you cry
You know that hope is never lost
So you've always wondered why
Somebody doesn't fix things
When there's so much they can do
But I think it's time to realize
That the "somebody" is you
