She tries not to look because that would only show affection
And any slight release of feeling would make her look weak
She tries not to think because she would only think of him
And that would just make her sad because she knows the feelings aren't mutual
Her breathing grows faster when she's around him
And she gets that spark of excitement when he stares at her or looks into her eyes
Although these are common things he does
The girl wonders,
"What if he's looking at someone behind me? Or not looking at anyone at all?"
She desperately tries not to stare
And she doesn't stare much
But when she gets lost in his eyes
It's hopeless to try to stop
It goes on and off
One day he'll seem to like her
But the next he doesn't
And she knows this is a sign
That he doesn't love her
And she has to live with the insufferable feeling
That he might love someone else.
