Alice and Leo stumbled to the car, which was parked safely down the street. When the building exploded, Alice fell to the ground, a sobbing mess. The rest of the surviving assassins kept moving, walking past the girl shaking and screaming on the ground, faces blank and hearts empty.

Leo stood next to Alice, watching over his shoulder as the building was reduced to nothing but a skeleton. His chest hurt, and he, too, felt an immense sadness in mourning. He had lost another friend.

Eventually, Alice made it to her feet again, and Leo followed her to the small black car. The trunk was closed, but full. The back seat had a few bags, one of which contained an immense amount of weapons. Another was a duffel bag of money; which was only a fraction of the three's savings.

In the front seat there was a blanket and a pillow, along with a grocery bag of snacks and a sticky note with a heart written on it in bright red marker.

Alice slid into the passenger seat, hugging the pillow against her bloodied chest. She was quiet and still, her eyes were still red from crying and her cheeks were flushed. She had goosebumps all over her skin, and Leo remembered she was sensitive to the cold. He jumped into the driver's seat, starting the car quickly, before turning the heat on full blast. He turned towards the small, quiet girl next to him, a small sigh escaping his chapped and blood stained lips.

"Where to?"

|Five Years Later|

"What do you want for lunch? I think we still have some noodles from last night..." Leo, who now went by the name of Matthew, asked Alice, looking around in the fridge.

"Sounds good to me." She yawned, stretching her back slightly.

Alice, now known as Saige, was sat in a rocking chair, holding a small, pale baby in her arms. In the past few years, her and Leo had moved half way across the country. They settled down in a small, quiet town and opened up a coffee shop. There, they ended up deciding to get married. Then, they decided to start a family. They, currently, had one healthy one year old. His name was Ely.

However, there was another on the way. Four months into her second pregnancy, Alice knew the child's gender and name already. She was going to be named Mia.

Leo and Alice had made a home, a place to belong, and they were finally happy. Even in mourning, even in strife, the two were confidant in victory. They could do anything.

So, they decided to be happy.

End.
