"Tyler where are my silver heels!?" I yelled through the apartment.
"What silver heels? You have about a million pairs!" He replied just as loud. I walked out of the bedroom, down through the hallway and to the living room where Tyler was sat in his basketball shorts.
"The shiny ones." I sighed.
"They're in the car, under the passenger seat." He laughed. I loved that he always knew where all of my things were, and I always knew where his were.
"What are they doing there?" I asked myself aloud. I looked up at Tyler and realised he wasn't ready at all. "What the hell Tyler! Why are you not ready!?" I yelled becoming very impatient. There was so much pressure on me for that day to go well. It was the first time I was going to see my dad after that argument. Jada had invited me round for Rayette's 13th birthday.
"Sorry babe just thinking." Tyler replied. I threw myself down on the couch next to him and rested my head on his chest.
"I'm sorry for snapping, I'm just stressed." I whispered.
"Don't worry baby, I get it." He smiled and kissed me on the top of my head. After nearly 5 minutes I realised we were going to be late if Tyler didn't start getting ready.
"Come on get up, get ready." I said pushing Tyler off the couch. We arrived at my dads and my anxiety levels were through the roof. I could barely breath. I was walking in wobbly lines and Tyler had clearly noticed. He grabbed my hand and stopped me at the top of the path.
"Breath. Princess, breath in and out. Everything is going to be okay, your dad loves you." I breathed in and out quickly, suddenly I went pale and dizzy. Tyler reached his arms around me and placed them firmly on my back. "Harley! Look me in the eyes." He said sternly. I looked up and he looked her serious.
"Y Y Yeah?" I stuttered.
"Repeat after me: I'm okay."
"I I I'm okay."
"I'm okay." He repeated. My breathing steadied.
"I'm okay." I breathed out heavily but slow.
"Now let's go in." Tyler linked our arms and lead me to the front door. My dad answered and my heart rate increased again. We walked in awkwardly and the living room was filled with bored 12-13 year olds.
One girl jumped up in excitement from the sight of Tyler. She started pointing and gasping at Tyler.
"I know I look good but I think this ones for you." I joked at Tyler.
"I think so too." He laughed.Tyler performed 2 or 3 songs for some of Rayette's friends, luckily Tyler always has a back up ukulele In the trunk of the car. They all loved him.
The party was as cool as 13 year old birthday parties can get I guess. The 'kids' were in Rayette's room doing make overs I'm guessing, because one of the girls came out covered in sloppy make up to grab a cupcake, when my dad came and sat next to me.
"Hi." He said.
"Hello." I replied my heart beating out of my chest, I couldn't breath and the room was spinning.
"Can we talk?"
"Uh huh." Is all I could muster. I stood up but instantly fell to the floor unconscious.•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~•
