"To London? " She asked trying to swallow the words.

Frankenstein nodded,  bowing his head he proceeded forward.

"Will you be back?" She asked suddenly.

"I think, I will" He replied. Frankenstein was walking down the small alley he carried his luggage with a firm grip. Eliza clenched her first upon her heart,  she was in distress.

"But what of me?" She managed to say walking closer to him.

Frankenstein clearly expressed his annoyance through his knotted eyebrows.

"What of you?" He said directing the question coldly.

"L-Lord Mendez is coming... he's coming to my house...and" her throat dried up, she couldn't speak of fright, and small crystallised tears formed up at the corners of her eyes, she started sobbing.

Frankenstein understood her fright as he had witnessed this kind of expression many times before. He understood her helplessness as he had seen many others fall prey to these powerful creatures which he couldn't quite decide what they actually were.
He looked at Eliza, she was desperately trying to hold back on her sobbing. She whimpered and exhaled in partition, her tears had already filled her eyes.

"I'm coming with you!" She yelled the words.

"Wha-? No, you can't" said Frankenstein looking sternly at Eliza.

"I can-... and I shall!" She said stomping her foot upon the muddy floor.

"Look here, I'm not planning on walking the cold and murderous streets of London with a little princess shackled to my foot." He said grinning.

"You ought to protect me!" Yeld Eliza again.

"Where did that moral obligation sprout out from?" He asked, his previous grin dispersing into a long smile,  an eerie smile, one that could freeze any predators's blood on the spot.

Eliza looked away, she started walking beside the man who had started to walk faster. Her hands were posed on her elbows.

"Can't I come?" She managed to ask sweetly.

"No sweetie, you can't" replied Frankenstein obviously annoyed.

They had reached the town, and entered the marketplace.  The streets were busy with buzzing villagers,  some screamed out the freshness of their products, others were venting the quality of their goods.
But,  no matter how busy the town was, all turned a glazing eye to the foreigner who was walking in their midst. The the villagers had recognised Eliza walking beside the foreigner they all deemed dangerous. However,  no matter how badly this man was labeled it did not stop any of the females to watch him making his way through the busy main lane in awe. He did aspire many feelings and the villagers were soon puzzled as to why their own mayor had labeled this man as a
disreputable character.

"Why are you so cruel?" said Eliza, coming close to him, she was perhaps a little too close.

"You don't know what cruelty is" he said only looking forward.

"But-"

"Enough!" He had said the word loud enough to draw all the attention upon him.

The villagers froze. It was all silent.

Frankenstein let out a long sigh. He took a few steps back, away from Eliza. He looked at her with saddened eyes, a loving look-it confused Eliza.

"Eliza dear, this union cannot happen,  forgive me, I must go" he said bowing his head down.

He walked pass Eliza, a tiny grin formed on his lips.

"That should, HOPEFULLY, keep her away for now"  He thought.

Eliza's face was now even redder than any tomatoes sold on the entire marketplace. She lowered her head, her hair covering her face, she was smiling,  secretly smiling.

"How cunning!!!!!!!!!!!!!" she thought

"But I love you!" She yelled at the top of her lungs.

Frankenstein froze. He clicked his tongue.

"You will only be miserable if you come with me" he said in the same manner he had previously spoken out loud to her.

"You can't really mean that, sir" said the Carpenter.

"I agree, isn't she just fine? I mean our beautiful Eliza?" Added another voice from a few meters away.

"You won't be gone forever,  take her" said the lady selling fine pearls.

"We'll cover up for the two of you" winked Mrs Baileys "Don't you all agree that lovers shouldn't be parted?" She was talking to the entire crowd and soon they all cheered on.

"Eliza, take this, we'll fill it in" said a man from his corner forcing a beautiful black leather luggage into Eliza's hands.

"Here! Here dolly, takes those, they make quite the impact in Paris" said a woman shoving some clothes into the new luggage.

"Eliza, here take those, there's only one railway that's going to london eh? And it's cold there" said the man, presenting a fine pair of boots to the lady.

Soon all the villagers had contributed to packing gifts into Eliza's luggage. She cried tears of joy and thanked them from the bottom of her heart. She bowed to them and hurried to Frankenstein's side.

"Lo! We'll have the biggest celebration on your return" yelled a man from among the crowd.

Frankenstein took Eliza's luggage and walked even faster. He coldly glanced at her.

"What's wrong? " asked Eliza, purely knowing what was wrong and feeling undeniably uncomfortable.

"I was just imagining how good my hands would look clenched to your throat, Eliza dear"
