They were now both seated opposite each other on a train headed to London.
Frankenstein was already looking out the window, he rested his head on his palm, his other hand was tipping repeatedly and musically the table in front of him. Eliza was breathing very heavily. She was seated upright and her shoulders were stuck to her throat. She even found it hard to swallow. She decided to speak.

"I-"

"Don't"

She sat back, not once relieved and even more contracted from her failed attempt to make a conversation with her saviour to whom she had been so rude previously.

"Where did you learn to act like that?" He finally asked, raising an eyebrow.

"I was desperate... and I wasn't thinking..." she said pulling down her shoulders "What about you? If I hadn't known about your obstination about not wanting to bring me to London, I might have believed that I actually was living an unrequited love story"

Frankenstein laughed at her words. He gently smiled.

"You'll find that quick and witty actions can save a lot of trouble, however, I was outdone by your desperation." He said looking grim all of sudden.

"The train has not yet started, I could still head back-"

"That won't be necessary." He said closing his eyes.

"Then you really don't mind having me here?" She asked her voice going up in pitch.

"I am least delighted." He shrugged.

"You could at least pretend to be happy about it." She muttered, pinching her lips together.

For a split second she could have swore to have seen a small smile on his face as though he had heard her. She shook her head and gathered her strength.

"Sir Frankenstei-"

"Frankenstein" He said, his eyes still closed.

"Right...Frankenstein" She said bizarrely.

"Yes?" He said obviously annoyed.

She cleared her throat loudly.

"What are we going to do in London?" She asked.

"We?" Frankenstein proceeded to burst out laughing.

"There is no we, I'll lock you up at the closest hotel I can find" He said closing his eyes again.

"Why?" She asked full of concern.

Frankenstein sensed the change in her, he opened his eyes and faced a teary young lady. She had longer hair than he did, her caramel coloured locks were looser and reached bellow her small waist. She had emerald green eyes, glistening against the sunshine coming from the train's window.

"It's too dangerous" He said staring intently into her eyes.

"Bu-"

Eliza was cut short by the sudden beckoning of the train, the engine started vibrating and it was slowly set into motion. She was amazed. She placed both her hands against the cold window and watched trees slowly moving away from her. This was all new to her. She intently looked out the window smiling like a child under the watchful eye of Frankenstein.

"Say, Frankenstein, have you any idea why you were the subject of a boycott in the village? " She asked still looking out the window.

She turned around and faced him.

"How did you rid us of the plague?" She asked in the same peaceful but demanding manner.

Frankenstein proceeded to unbutton his sleeves, his arms were covered in tiny punctures and blisters.

"This is how" he said looking at his arms as though they weren't his.

"You experimented on yourself? !" She said gasping "Have you been attained by madness?!" She exclaimed taking his wrist.

Frankenstein laughed, he shook his head.

"Madness? It has a nice ring to it." He said still chuckling.

"So this is why you were casted as a heretic... But you did it for us! You saved so many!" Her hands were trembling over his smalls injuries.

Frankenstein buttoned his sleeves back.

"I knew exactly where my actions were taking me, this happened countless of times before" He said.

"Countless of times before? But- the last epidemic wave was 13 years ago-how old were you?" She said, she was getting curious by the minute.

"Aren't you getting too privy now, Eliza?" He said before staring intently at the moving paysage in front of them.

"Forgive me, I have to admit that the more I talk to you, the more confused I get." She confessed.

"Have I gone up in your esteem? " He asked mockingly.

"You already had a place no one else could reach..." She whispered.

The door at the end of the wagon had opened a man dressed in black with an orange belt as a diagonal ornament walked steadily and closer.

"Tickets, please" He said in a monotonous voice.

Frankenstein extended a note. The man took it forth sluggishly. After having read it, he bowed his head and walked away. Frankenstein put back the note inside his jacket, he then turned back and faced the window.

"What was on the note?" Asked Eliza.

"Nothing too important." He replied.

It was all silent over again. The train chimed away, and the landscape was moving out of focus, both stared out the window into the dissipating view their eyes held onto. Soon familiar landscape entered Frankenstein's field of vision, they were getting closer to destined destination. The grim looking houses from afar almost looked haunted. The grass was frozen and cattles were skeletal, thin and starved.

"We're approaching London" exclaimed Frankenstein.

Eliza nodded and continued to trace back the sight she behold. She was both amazed and immaculately scared.

"King's Cross' the next station, milady and sir." Said the man who had previously asked to see their tickets.

The train had stopped. Frankenstein got up and signaled to Eliza to follow him. They were now in London
