The ball room was grandiose, Eliza started shaking all over, an indescribable feeling took hold of her as she carefully made her way into the crowd in the middle of the ball room. She had been alone all night as Frankenstein was trailed off by many guests. She could not help but to look at him from time to time, she felt watched and noticed the uncanny stares. Slipping through the dark aura of hate that emanated from the crowd, Eliza reached the bar, the sparkling champagne had a welcoming look, the crimson wine looked comforting. She indulged herself with those drinks out of bitter rage and sadness. Frankenstein was still surrounded and he did not heed any attention to her.

The music was gentle, guests could speak in a low voice and their partners would still heae them. Eliza focused on the crying violin, she listening to the piano, the music grew louder to her ears, she finally felt at ease within this hostile ball room.

The music continued to grow louder until Eliza could not hear a single voice surrounding her. She listened. The music stopped. Eliza was drawn back suddenly. The crowd opened up a middle way, and two figures, followed by another figure made their way down the humougous stairs.

The crowd started clapping and cheering, Eliza realised that it had to be the host, she focused on his stance as he walked down the stairs. Raising her eyes to the next figure,Eliza froze, she started to break down in cold sweat. Her ears started ringing. She suffocated, at least that's what she thought. A tight grip shook her back to her senses, she noticed Frankenstein who had just moved besides her. A menacingly aura emanated from him, his grip was hard, but Eliza was thankful. She would not have to face this alone.

Slipping through the crowd Frankenstein hurried to the bottom if the stairs where the host was greeted by his guests. He held onto Eliza and she followed him with a firm resolve.

"My! If it isn't my dearest friend, doctor Frankenstein!" Said the host noticing Frankenstein and pushing through the barrier of men keeping the two from meeting.

"And greetings to you also, Miss Eliza, I am rather delighted to see that my late wife's dress fitted you perfectly, I have to say that I could not believe my ravens when they said Frankenstein was coming with a lady, one as ravishing and as beautiful as yourself, it is my very great honout to meet you, I am Bram Stocker" said the man taking Eliza's hand and kissing it gently, the touch of the man's lips sent shivers down Eliza's back, they were cold, inhumanily cold.
Frankenstein glanced at Eliza.

"The pleasure is all mine" responded Eliza bowing as a lady of her age and rank should.

"You haven't changed at all Bram" finally announced Frankenstein.

"The one who hasn't changed is you, have you actually contracted with the devil" said Stoker elbowing Frankenstein.

"You do know of my opinion on the occult, Bram" said Frankenstein coldly.

"Yes, well yes of course" Stoker was obviously uncomfortable with Frankenstein's eyes focused on him, he drew his steps back and sighed.

Eliza shrugged when she saw a familiar head pacing through the crowd, she held onto Frankenstein, burying her face behind him.

"Is that Mendez?" He said very quietly his lips remaining still.

Eliza didn't answer she squeaked tightening her grip. Mendez was coming their way.

"Act natural, follow my lead, Eliza" said Frankenstein, Eliza shuddered upon hearing her name in such a low whisper, she looked at his face to notice a frightening grimace, welcoming trouble.

"Ah my lord Mendez, this is a very dear friend of mine, the renowned and genius scientist Frankenstein" said Stoker taking place next to Frankenstein.

Mendez bowed and presented his hand upward to Frankenstein. Taking hold of his hand, Frankenstein flipped it down, his own hand revealing the white dorsum of his hand.
Upon noticing Eliza, Mendez drw closer to her, Frankenstein intervened squeezing his hand tightly.

"She is my partner for tonight" said Frankenstein tilting his head backwards, revealing his eyes that begged  to see Mendez at his feet.

"I was simply contemplating on the fact that she looks very well, better than I have heard she had been" Mendez's tone was rigid, slightly mocking.

"Yes I have made a full recovery" managed to say Eliza, her tone was clear and had a new confidences oozing from her.

"I see" said Mendez, his eyes focusing on Eliza's.

"Frankenstein." Said Mendez "A word"

Frankenstein shrugged, he looked at Eliza's pleading eyes.

"Miss Eliza, why don't we dance? " managed to throw Stoker reading the atmosphere. He took Eliza by the hand and entered the dance floor.

Frankenstein followed Mendez outside the ballroom, the both were heading out to the guest room.

" Eliza, is it your doing?" He asked standing behind a chesterfield, his hands on both ends of the furniture.

Frankenstein sat opposite Mendez, his legged crossed, he looked at Mendez, the tip of his mouth forming into an eerie smile.

"I'm afraid the information I could provide a ringleader of demented chicks is quite limited" Said Frankenstein.

Mendez growled and charged head on, his heads encircling Frankenstein's head against the sofa.

"You better start to speak human" he said hissing.

Frankenstein chuckled, he looked at Mendez in the eyes.

"You've just thrown off your alibi, not very wise now are you?" he said, bringing his eyes closer to Mendez's.
"It might have worked with the peasants of the village, but I, I've dealt with your kind before" he said plainly.

"15 years ago... that was you?" Asked Mendez.

Frankenstein simply shrugged.

"What if it was? Even if it were to happen again a century from now, I will end you all" he said, throwing Mendez into a vulnerable posture.

"If that's the case, I will have to end you myself" said Mendez taking a small pocket knife out of his vest.

"O-ho~" chuckled Frankenstein "I'd like to see you try"
