To trigger the Dragon's rage

Chapter sixteen

                 To trigger the Dragon’s rage.

When Suki awoke it was very dark outside, she thought she could see the sunrise on the horizon. Suki moved her head and saw Zack asleep lying against her bed. Suki shook her head and laughed quietly. She pocked Zack into back of the neck very lightly but with enough pressure to wake him up.

Zack moaned sleepily “Five more minutes.”

Suki laughed “No sleepy head.”

Zack lifted his head and his eyes locked with Suki’s. His expression told Suki that she’d been asleep for a very long time.

Zack gasped “You’re awake.”

Suki asked “How long was I out for?”

Zack joked “Believe it or not two days.”

Suki’s eyes went wide in disbelief but she knew that Zack would never lie to her so he must have been telling the truth.

Suki exclaimed “Two Days!”

Zack closed his eyes in slight pain.

Suki apologized “Sorry.”

Zack replied “It doesn’t matter Suki.”

Suki smiled and rubbed his cheek and he leaned forward to lightly kiss her on the forehead. Suki pushed herself out of her bed and Zack steadied her as she swayed abit.

Zack asked “How do you feel?”

Suki replied “Actually I feel good no pain, dizziness or light headedness.”

Zack commented gratefully “That’s great I hated seeing you like that.”

Suki joked “I’ll try not to make a habit of being ill then.”

Zack laughed “You’d better.”

Both Suki and Zack laughed happily. As Suki rose from her bed and took a few steps she found that she could walk again.

Suddenly a voice asked “Zack can I speak with you for a minute in private please.”

Both Suki and Zack turned to see Luke in the doorway looking rather worried.

Zack replied “Yes sure… Suki I’ll be back soon.”

Suki replied “Alright.”

As Zack and Luke exited the room Suki could hear what Luke was saying since she had Dragon hearing. A  Dragon has hearing that is five times better than Human hearing but she’d never told anyone for good reason. But at what Luke was saying to Zack she wished she had told someone.

Luke notified “Zack the Evil Spirits are here in New York.”

Zack exclaimed “What how do you know for certain?!”

Luke explained “I went out earlier and I was flying over this old abandoned warehouse downtown when I saw at least four helicopters landing… Since I was in my Eagle form I turned into a seagull and landed on the roof with other seagulls… I heard one person say ‘We must find that Dragon which gave us the slip back in Hong Kong otherwise Ellik is going to kill us now what did he say her name was something like Suki or Susie… So I flew back as fast as I could… But I think I’ve led them straight here you see I transformed back into an eagle and I think they saw me… Zack I’m so sorry.”

Zack replied “It’s alright Luke you weren’t to know but now we have a problem how are we going to protect Suki without her knowing that they’re coming for her.”
