Chapter Twenty Four

Hey guys guess what?! Here's an update!! I'm sorry but it's really short...but even though it's short it's a pretty important chapter let me tell ya! Please enjoy this chapter and Chapter Twenty five will be right along in a few days guys!! Plus my Christmas break starts this Friday meaning I'll have two whole weeks to write and update for all of you! Enjoy!!

Chapter Twenty Four

Shawn's POV-

I couldn't believe what was going on until it happened. Until I felt the pain of hair sprouting from every inch of my skin, the crack and shifting of every bone in my body as it took on a new form.

The form of a wolf.

When the pain subsided I realized what happened immediately. The heightened sense of sight, smell and hearing caught my attention and I barked, looking around.

My eyes landed on Gale who was being held in Tanner's arms with a knife against his throat and I growled. Tanner laughed and I started to pace back and forth.

I needed to do something and fast.


Ethan's POV-

The drugs from earlier were slowly starting to wear off. I was starting to be able to feel my legs now.

I looked up at my family and watched them all. They were all watching us in horror, clutching onto one another for support. Andrea held onto Tony's arm, and Amber hid behind Fredrick's back. Olivia and Dakota stood in front of everyone. Shawn was pacing back and forth in his new wolf form.

I looked at Mia, a tear sliding down my cheek. I could feel her grow weaker and weaker by the minute. I was losing my mate.

"Quickly now. We must get the child!"

I blinked sleepily when Katherine spoke this. The child.... Oh my god!

Just then it hit me like someone dumping five gallons of ice water on me. They're after the baby! I remember now!

~~~Flashback~~~

It was a year after Tanner's death and Mia had just woken us both up from her nightmare. That night she was crying and decided she would show me her nightmare.

It was Christmas Day after Mia had left because she thought I didn't want the baby. She was in the little lake cabin, trapped with Tanner. She was being held to the couch and Tanner had a grip on her arm as he talked to her.

"It's a shame you two already fully mated. I feel like I missed out on something precious. But no matter." Tanner said, letting go of Mia and waving his hand, dismissing the thought as if he didn't care.

Mia watched him as he stared at her, smiling.

"I'll just come after your beautiful daughter when she's born."

Mia gasped as her body started to shake. She wrapped her arms around her stomach to protect the baby and shook her head no.

"No."

Tanner grabbed her hand and pulled her to her feet. Tanner pulled her to an old girl's bedroom and stopped her in front of the full length mirror. He turned her head so she was looking at herself. A small belly bump could be seen and a tear fell down Mia's cheek. Tanner smiled.

"You have no idea how excited I am to take your baby when she's born." He whispered in her ear as he wrapped an arm around her and placed his hand over her stomach.

Another tear fell down her cheek and she shook her head no a few times.

"And when she grows older I can claim her as my own. Make her into a vampire. She'll rule the world with me. Can you imagine? Your daughter will be the most powerful female in the world." He whispered, lust strongly shining in his eyes.

He licked his lips hungrily and Mia was becoming hysterical.

"No. You can't take her." She whispered, shaking her head no with tears falling down her cheeks.

"NO!!!" She screamed, turning around to face him.

After that had happened we found out that we weren't having one child but two. We had the twins.

Tanner doesn't want Neomi.

He wants our daughter.

The one being born in two months.

He wants her for his own.

And if he can't have her, then she must be destroyed.

And I already said he cannot have the baby when Katherine asked.

It was all starting to click together now! I started to fight against Blake with a renewed energy. I needed to get free so I could save Mia and my baby.

"Stop squirming you little shit!" Blake growled.

I stopped and looked up when the sound of someone snarling caught my attention. Before anyone could do or say anything Shawn ran at the dome at top speed. I watched him and saw that instead of him being electrocuted and thrown back from the dome, he went right through it.

That's it!

Shawn could get through the shield because he was once an enemy! The dome had to have been made long before Shawn switched sides and it would've taken them too long to rebuild it.

Katherine gasped and Tanner hissed, pressing his knife harder against Gale's throat. I pulled against Blake.

"Leave my son alone you leech!"

Tanner turned towards me, surprised.

"Ethan...I almost forgot about you over there. Looks like those drugs of yours have worn off."

Before I could reply a fist collided with my face, blood dribbling down my chin.

"Tanner! L-leave my family....out of this..."

Everyone became silent when Mia spoke. Tanner walked over there with Gale in his arms.

"Gale do you see your mother? She is dying because you are choosing to save the baby. Now take away that force field and your mother will live."

Mia shook her head no and smiled painfully at Gale.

"Don't...don't listen to him baby...I'm gonna be okay...I promise." She whispered.

Gale whimpered and looked over at Shawn who was being held back by Jack who had a hold of his tail.

What a chicken shit!

I lifted my foot up and kicked Jack as hard as I could. He went falling onto his side, letting go of Shawn's tail and Shawn took off. He jumped for Tanner who let go of Gale. Gale fell to the ground and crawled to the other side of the table, away from the fighting.

Blake's grip loosened during all of the action and I ripped my arms loose, turning around and punching him in the face. I ran over to Mia and she smiled up at me.

"E...Ethan..." She breathed.

"Shh Mia we're going to get you out of here hold tight for me baby girl just hold on."

Everyone outside was cheering as Shawn and Tanner fought. Katherine was standing at her podium, her eyes wide with fear.

"Gale?! Gale where are-"

Suddenly the dome around us disappeared.

"Get them!" Kyle yelled.

I looked around for Gale and found him behind the podium at Katherine's feet.

"Come on bud let's get mommy out of here."

He nodded and we ran for the stone table only to be stopped by Katherine herself.

"She's not going anywhere!"

Gale leaped out of my arms and attacked Katherine. She started running around screaming like she had bees in her hair or something and I ran over to Mia.

"Mia? Come on I'm taking you to the hospital. Come on now."

She tried to speak but no sound came out. I lifted her up and started walking through the carnage.

I didn't care what was going on around me. I didn't care who was fighting Tanner or Katherine, nothing. I needed to get Mia to the hospital.

So that explains why I didn't see Tanner come at me, his fangs struck to bite until they were already sunken into my skin.

I fell to my knees with Mia in my arms and was out in secs. Only before I was totally unconscious I saw the beautiful sight of Tanner being handcuffed.
