Chapter Sixteen

Jake's POV-

I smiled down at Samantha and stroked her black hair. She cuddled up next to me and I could feel every inch of her skin touch mine.

"Thank you Jake." She whispered as she played with my fingers that were resting on my bare chest.

"For what babe?" I asked.

She shrugged.

"For helping me become myself again. I didn't mean to become like that it's just-"

"Shh. I know Sam. It's okay."

I smiled at her and she smiled back, her blue eyes sparkling.

"I love you Jake." She whispered, snuggling her face into my chest.

I rubbed my fingertips gently up her back causing her to shiver.

"I love you too Samantha." I whispered in her ear.

She sighed happily and kissed my chest.

"Hey babe I have something I wanna show you." I said quietly.

"What's that?" She asked, sitting up and turning to me.

I stared at her face, keeping my eyes off of her body.

"It's a surprise. You have to get up and get dressed!" I said, jumping from the bed.

I ran into the closet and quickly pulled on some slacks. This was only half of my plan. I threw a bag onto the bed.

"Wear that babe please?" I asked.

She looked in the bag and gasped.

"Where in the world....?"

"It's part of the surprise! But I'll be right back okay? I have to go do something real quick." I said, stepping out of the closet in just my slacks.

I ran softly to the makeshift hospital room where Olivia, Amber, Fredrick and Dakota were all chilling. I shut the door and Dakota threw me my white button up shirt and tux jacket. I quickly put it all on and started trying to tie my tie. I was getting frustrated when two small hands pushed mine away. I looked up and saw Olivia standing in front of me. She started tying my bow tie.

"Why are you out of bed? Shouldn't you be....?"

She smiled.

"I'm all healed. Amber on the other hand...."

We both looked towards Amber and Fredrick. Neither of them paid any attention to us as they talked quietly to each other.

"She'll be better soon."

I nodded and looked over at Dakota who was now asleep.

"So Ethan told me that your proposing to Sammy." She said.

I nodded.

"Well. I'm going to warn you. If you break her heart, crush her in any way or even so much as make her cry I will cut your balls off and then slit your throat. Got it?"

I swallowed and nodded.

"Good. Don't forget your shoes." She said and patted me on the cheek.

I rushed to get them and walked after her.

"Olivia wait before you go get her I need to talk to you." I said as I put a shoe on.

She turned around and I took a deep breath.
