Chapter Twenty Nine

Tony’s POV-

I woke up to a nurse shaking me awake. I was sitting in the waiting room of the hospital across from Mia and Andrea’s rooms.

“I was told to wake you sir.”

I glared at the woman and stood up, stretching.

“Your family is on their way here and your wife is awake. You daughter is in the nursery.”

I nodded at the nurse, yawning. After I left everyone, I caught Andrea up on what was going on with Mia and Ethan and she was both scared for Mia but happy that Ethan would soon be back to normal. She fell asleep a few minutes later and I came out here to think. I must’ve fallen asleep.

“Any news on my sister or my niece?”

“Your niece is also in the nursery but Mrs. Cole is still unconscious. Doctor Passer has added a glucose drip to her medications. We’re sure the reason Mrs. Cole has been unconscious for so long is due to hypoglycemia. Basically that’s when a person’s blood sugar drops too low causing them to pass out. The amount of blood she lost while giving birth and the stress she’s endured the past few months are probably the main reasons for the low blood sugar.”

I nodded, not quite understanding but believing her. She began to walk away and I stood there for a second.

“Who told you to wake me up?”

She turned around to answer but a male voice answered the question.

“I did.”

I turned around and blinked a few times, unable to believe the sight in front of me.

“Dude you look like shit.”

He chuckled and made his way over to me, hugging me.

“I missed you man.”

I hugged my brother-in-law back, feeling a large weight being lifted off my shoulders. I pushed him back and took a good look at him. He had weeks old stubble covering his face and he looked ragged. His hair was a mess and he was in desperate need of a shower.

“You really look like shit.”

He chuckled again.

“You look just as bad.”

I shook my head.

“Come on let’s get you cleaned up bro and then we can talk.”

He nodded and I led him to a bathroom for him to get back to normal.

---------

“So that’s what happened?”

I nodded at Ethan’s question as I explained how I got him to shift as we walked back from the bathroom.
