Narushika & series 2 (one shot)

chapter 1

- naruto pov -

i sit in class with with my classmates and wait for kakashi sensai... again, i can't believe he's late, like what's his deal
"hey naruto"
 i whip my head away from my mindless doodle and look up to see my sister sakura, well she's not really my sister...  sasuke and sakura are brother and sister, i was adopted but they love me which is great, believe it!
"oh, hey sakura" 
i say and rub the back of my neck, smiling sheepishly, she grabs my book and looks at the small drawing  
"this is pretty cool" she states and hands me back the book, sakura looks around then seats herself into the chair next to me and giggles
"what is it sakura?" i ask her.
"i heard there's a new kid today, and i hope he's smoking hot" she says, i groan why does she have to flirt with everything, like seriously she's even flirted with me

*** flash back ***

it was my first night at the haruchi household, i'd seen my new house and met my new family, i was so happy, they had even given me ramen for dinner but it was still new and i was scared because i was 8. i was sharing a room with sasuke and sakura's room was next door but she was sitting on my bed and keeping me company, she was doing her homework and heard me crying "sakura, why are you here?" i asked and i wiped my cheek
"hey, i gotta check up on my brother" she said and my face dropped, she walked up to me and ruffled my hair
"you idiot, you are my brother" she smiled brightly and i couldn't help but smile too. we talked for ages 
"i see you workout" she said and touched my arm 
"well a little because i didn't have a lot of friends at the orphanage" i rubbed the back of my head sheepishly 
"well you have me and my older brother sasuke but mostly me" she leaned over me until i was flat on my back and she was on top of me
"what are you doing?! get off" i said and pushed her back "please don't flirt with me" i said and tried not to offend her
"no one has ever said no to me, but we're cool as brother and sister... and friends" she smiled and walked back to her room

*** end ***

"sakura, can't you just... i don't know, maybe NOT flirt with the new kid" i say loudly and of course right on cue, sakuras best friend ino, walks over.
"i don't see why sakura can't flirt with the new kid" she shrugged and patted sakuras shoulder 
"go flirt just don't flirt with the sensais" i say, defeated
"yay" sakura squeals "thanks bro" she kisses my cheek and runs off to her seat just as kakashi walks in.
"hello class, today we have a new student in our class today, give him a warm welcome" kakashi says, i always thought it rude to not be nice, yea.. great logic. *clap clap clap* my hands coming together was the only sound in the room. a lean boy with his hair tied in a short high ponytail walked in with a slumped stance 
"please introduce yourself" kakashi asks
"my name is shikamaru nara, i moved here from the hidden sand and i like cloud watching" he says, i looked over and of course, both sakura and ino are fan girling over him 
"you may choose where to sit" and kakashi lightly gestures fro him to move by pushing him, people put their bags on seats as he walked past, shikamaru turns to see ino and sakura, i chuckle. 
"sit by me" i yell and pat the seat next to me and i see that he's relieved because my seat an their seat were the only ones left
"thanks man" he says, sitting down, dropping his bag and getting his books. i look to sakura and ino then discretely stick out my tongue, hehehe she won't like me for a week

"ugh what a drag" shikamaru looks at the clock "but luckily I've got a free period next"
"hey i have a free period next too" i say smiling "we can hang" i rub my neck sheepishly
"really?" he asks "i was bullied at my last school because i'm really smart" shikamaru says
"yea, we can go to my house if you want, but sakura and ino will be there" 
"why?"
"i'm sakuras adopted brother and ino is her bestfriend plus they have a free period too"
"how about my place then?"
"awesome, i hate being stuck with those two" i smile brightly, something i learnt from sakura
"i get what you mean, i have a sister, her names temari" shikamaru laughs
"i also have an older brother, his name is sasuke"
*ring ring ring* i stretch and pack up my stuff, he does as well 

we head out the front gate and turn left
"so where is your house"
"not far" he says
"well i totally know where you live now" i say with thick sarcasm he laughs lightly
"will your sister be home?"
"nah, she's 20 and also she's back in the sand village, she's dating the kazekage" 
"oh cool, um whats you favorite color? considering that we're friends you know"
"uh, green whats yours?"
"orange" i yell and point to my jump suit
"cool, favorite food?"
"RAMEN" 
"haha fish" he smiled, it was really cute too
"here we are" and he points to a rather large house, we enter and head to the kitchen

"what cha doing?" i ask and lean on the counter
"getting ramen, it's not my favorite but it's still good" 
"alright! believe it" i yell
shikamaru and i sat down and because his family didn't have a TV, he taught me how to play shogi i wasn't good at it but it was still really fun and we ate our ramen, chatting the whole time, it was definitely better than hanging out with sakura and ino or my emo brother 
"oh, look at the time, it's almost 5. I've got to go" i say as i quickly pack up my stuff

"sorry fro keeping you so long" shikamaru says
"no, pleas it's fine, we should do it again" i say as i wave and walk out, he waves back. i had so much fun believe it! i'm walking home slowly, my mind wandering aimlessly "5:15" i yell and i start to sprint. at 5:16 i race inside and shut the door "i'm home" i yell
"hi honey, how's your day" mum asks and smiles like sakura or more like sakura smiles like her
"it was great, i finally made a friend" i say and give her a thumbs up "that's why i'm home late"
"don't be sorry, he's the new kid though?" she asks as she begins to whisk some pizza dough
"how'd you know" i ask, i didn't think i'd seen her at all today
"i told her" sakura says and flicks her hair back "he's cute" she pouts and helps with dinner
"i'm going to shower" i say and grab my towel from my room and run to the shower before anyone can take it.
