It was like any other day in Washington as a NCIS Special Agent. I arrived at NCIS at 0600 hours, and decided to go workout in the gym. When I entered the gym there weren't many people, but I wasn't concerned, as this was normal. I changed into my gym clothes and went to the punching bags. After several minutes a man entered wearing a tan coat, and work boots. The man went into the mens change room, then exited the gym a few minutes later. Looking back I suppose I should have seen this as suspicious, but I didn't at the time.

When I was leaving the gym, I went to push open the door, only to find that it was locked. I tried the other door, but it was locked to. I yelled out wondering if anybody brought their keys with them. It was unlikely, and they hadn't. I called Tony Dinozzo who I figured was in the squad room. He hadn't arrived yet so I called Abby Scuito our forensic scientist, and asked her if she could bring her keys and unlock the door. She came with her keys, but told me that they wouldn't work. I was confused since these locks never fail, and have electronic chips in them that prevent hacking. I was immediately alarmed, and yelled out through the door telling Abby to tell the Director.

The Director told Abby that from her office the electronic floorplans of NCIS showed all hallways and doors open to authorized personnel. The director told Abby to tell me to notify all the people in the gym that the door was locked, but that it was under control. I went to the Womens locker room first, and told eveybody in there. I went in the mens change room next, only to find that there was nobody in there, just a backpack left behind. When I was walking towards it I heard a faint clicking sound. I realized that it was a bomb and ran into the open gym as fast as I could. I ran yelling for all the people on that side of the gym to get out of there as fast as the could. Within 15 seconds the bomb went off.
