"Ok, Probie, what do we got?" Asked Special agent Dinozzo.
"We have 5 witness statements saying that they never saw anybody suspicious, but that the last thing they remember was Ziva yelling at them to get away from the mens washroom. She tried to save those people." Stated McGee sadly.
"Of course she did." Dinozzo yelled angrily.
The two agents got to work and collected evidence to give to Abby so that they could figure out what trigered the bomb.
In the lab; Abby's POV:
"Hey, where's my caf-pow? " demanded Abby.
"The machine was broken in the explosion." Explained Dinozzo.
"Great, now I have to solve a case, with no caf-pow. Never mind, we have bigger things like Ziva. How is she?" asked Abby.
"She's mad at me, and in surery for internal bleeding. Don't worry, the doctors say she will be fine." Reassured McGee.
"Ok, now I figured out the detonator for the bomb which was a timer. Kind of old school which is genuis. It leaves us with no fingerprints, and no phone number to trace. Anyway, the bomb was homemade and had shrapnel made of metal ballbearings.
I am running a substance found on the floor in major Mass Spec, which should give you results any- she stops to be interrupted by the alarm from her Mass Spectrometer. Ok, so the chemical is.... Fecal matter. Huh, that's strange.
"What if the substance found was pee done by somebody in the blast who died?" Asked McGee.
"Damn you McGee, we thought we had something! Yelled Abby.
Ok, geez sorry. We'll keep looking do rmore evidence, but for now you'll have to do with this stuff, he said as he lay the evidence on the table.
As fast as they came they were gone.
Back up in the big orange room:
A broadcaster on the plasma was outside the Navy Yard reporting on the explosion:
"I am outside the NCIS Navy Yard reporting on the explosion that has rocked our country. Literally. People in Washington report feeling a movement in the ground that felt like an earthquake. We are unable to get close enough to the blast to see the real damage, but reports are, that much of the first floor of the NCIS building is destroyed and over 100 wounded, and 58 dead. That's all the information we have at this time. Back to you Eric." She finished with a smile.
"Well, the hounds are back, and lying as ever."
"Who's lying Agent Dinozzo?" Asked NCIS director Jenny Shepard.
"Just the media, as usual." Replied Dinozzo.
"Stay on the case Dinozzo, we need answers now." Replied Jenny Shepard, as she walked back into the Directors Office.
"Well that went well." Said McGee.
