This is the chapter I accidentally posted a week ago 😂. Ugh, I hate Mondays, it's so hard even wake up. Gonna go make some tea and breakfast, love you. Enjoy ^.^
————————————————(Craig POV)
Fine, be that way! I don't need you anyway! You're the mean one, ugly and fat!I threw the phone on the wall, which fell on the ground with loud thump. I quickly picked it up again, trying to turn that device back on.
No! No! No! Work please! Oh my goodness, what if he's calling right now? C'mon, work!
I turned myself to the door, which had opened, and saw Evan with confusion written in his eyes.
"Is everything ok?" He asked carefully.
"What do you thing?" I replied, feeling the tears in my eyes.
It had been a few days since he sent me his last message, still ignoring my calls. I felt like he already broke up with me that way but I didn't want to believe it.
Evan walked towards me, and hugged me tightly. I put my head on his chest, crying my eyes out.
"Wh-what... did I do wrong?" I asked, being interrupted by my own sobs.
He just sighed and took a deep breath.
"Craig... he wasn't the one for you. You can do better," he said in calm tone.
"But I love him! I love him so much, he was amazing," I protested silently.
"You said this exact words about Sam, you remember?" He asked me in whisper, and I cried even more.
"But this... this is not some Sam. Eric was perfect, he cared about me, he loved me. For fuck sake this is not fair! I'm not like you, Evan. I can't carry myself easily over somebody to meet another person. I need him, I want him, I-"
Evan pulled me away from him, grabbing both of my shoulders. I looked at him and sobbed.
"Craig listen to me, ok? Eric was dumb piece of shit. You-"
It was Evan who was interrupted this time by knocking on the door. My best friend wanted to open the door, but I was there to protect him, so I stoped him and opened the door myself.
"Hi."
I wanted to hug him so much, I wanted to kiss him, but my whole body was filled in depression and anger so I just stare at him.
"What do you want?" I asked bitterly, holding the sobs inside me.
"I can take you out and we can talk," he replied carefully.
"You think we have something to talk about? That I want to talk with you?"
"I kind of hoped so," be replied
"Well you can dream on! We're done, you and me!" I said loudly, feeling Evan's arm wrapping behind me as he hugged me to calm me down.
"D-done? What do you mean?" Eric asked confused, and I could heard little anger.
"You just left me without any proper explanations. New York trip? Really? I needed you, Eric. Evan was found, and you weren't by my side at that time."
"But what did I suppose to do? My friend needed me to a-"
"Friend? Friend?! I thought your boss sent you to New York!"
"Fine, throw every fucking fault at me. I hope you're feeling better now," he replied, and to my surprise turned around and walked furiously away.
I felt my body weakened and I welcomed Evan's body as a support.
"It's ok, Craig. He deserves this." I heard Evan's words.
I quickly unwrapped his arms and stepped away.
"Maybe... but I love him. And I don't want to loose him this easily," I quickly said, running after Eric with new tears in my eyes, leaving Evan behind.
I caught Eric up when he was getting into his car.
"Wait! Eric please... I'm... I'm sorry."
He looked at me, his eyes filled with anger, frustration.
"Sorry for fucking what?" He replied, gripping the frame of the car door.
"I didn't mean... I... I didn't mean to say that. I was just angry because I haven't talked with you for eternity. You wanted to take me out and talk, right? I want to, really I do, but I have to protect Evan. Can we please go back to the house? We can talk there."
He sighed, then slowly nodded his head. I swiped the nervousness and fear from his furious state, quickly walked to him and tightly hugged him.
"I'm really happy you're here," I whispered to him, snuggling into his chest.
He hugged me back, and I enjoyed that embrace like I was going to die soon. Being held like that made me feel safe, protected. From the world around me, from people, from my past.
"I love you," he whispered, kissing my hair, and I smiled into his chest.
"I love you more, Eric. Can we... can we go back? I'm worried about Evan." I looked up to him.
He silently nodded. Taking my hand, we walked back to his house. My best friend was sitting in the living room, watching some sitcom.
"We're back," I announced us.
He turned his head, scanning Eric for a good minute before he replied.
"I'm glad."
Why do I have a feeling that Evan doesn't like Eric much? Why though? He didn't do anything to him, nor was he insulting him in any way. Maybe he's just afraid of being alone now. But I won't leave him. No matter how hard would Eric wanted me to.
I walked towards Evan, leaving Eric stand there. I hovered to level of his eyes.
"I'm going with Eric upstairs. Call me when you need me, ok?" I informed him with a small smile.
"Do whatever you want," he responded frustrated, his eyes still glued to the television.
I sighed and walked towards Eric. Taking his hand, I lead him upstairs.
"You wanted to talk? Talk then."
