(Vanoss POV)
"He's really good."

I heard Bryce's voice behind me, smiling to myself. I focused on my dummy target again, firing another shot.

"I know," Delirious replied.

"You sure know how to pick the fitting partner. I'm gonna gather some maps about Ohm's place, I have them somewhere in my room," Bryce announced, and I heard his footsteps as he walked away.

"Hold the gun steadily. You have to trust yourself, trust the gun."

The voice appeared to be closer than before, making my heart race. He stood behind me, his arms copied mine.

"That's it. Hold it just like this. Try to focus on the target, nothing else matter in this situation. You have to be focused, swipe away every distraction."

The only thing my mind could focus on at that moment was the softness of his skin touching mine. His firm fingers wrapped around mines, his muscular chest pressed against my back. His breath on my neck, so close. My body reacted on its own. My stomach did a few flips, my body started to shake.

"Focus," he whispered right into my ear, making me close me eyes.

I instantly remembered the times we had shared together, making me shiver.

"And you're dead," he laughed, stepping away from me.

It's not hard to say. Just say it aloud. C'mon, I can do this.

I opened my eyes, looking at him. He started to reload the guns, then he sat down on the table.

"There are few most important things you need to remember," he started, taking a grenade into his hands.

"Never leave any trace behind you, unless you want the attention. Check your footprints, fingerprints, pull out the bullet, because they can track the gun and with the gun they can track the owner," he started, casually throwing the grenade from one hand to another, while I leaned against the wall.

"Make sure you haven't been spotted, by people or by cameras. Everything you bring in you have to bring out as well, never leave anything behind. And try to show minimum of your emotions. Some people can read you quickly," he continued.

"And the most importantly, you can't trust anybody."

"Not even you?" I asked confused, hurt a bit.

"Not even me, not even Craig. You're gonna be hunted now, not openly, but it's inevitable. You never know if your close person wasn't tortured, or just blackmailed. You have to protect yourself."

"Wait, but what about Tyler? And... what about me? You don't trust me?" I asked carefully, too scared to know the truth.

Jonathan went silent for a few seconds, stopping in his movements.

"I trust you. But you have to be careful from now on, Evan. People aren't always good ones in this world."

I felt warmness in my body, feeling happy he let me in. Even maybe just as a friend.
