THIS IS WHAT PROSPERITY'S ABOUT

--Josh's P.O.V--

"So you had a run in with Declan Gray in the bathroom?"

I nodded at Jenna as I sat in her desk chair. "Yes and it was strange. He was crying and as soon as I walked in he yelled 'I'm lost, I swear!' How could he be lost?"

Jenna shrugged. "He's a weird kid. Always has been since he moved to Oakville. People dismiss it though since he's practically the only reason our hockey team is good."

The blonde girl preceded to write on the notebook that was positioned on her lap as I ran my hands through my hair. "Do you know what school he originally came from?"

"No, I don't," she responded, "which is very surprising. Nickolai usually gives me all the information on everyone. However, I do know that he attended Oakville in like six or seventh grade, but moved in the middle of seventh grade."

A part of me didn't understand why I was so interested in Declan Gray. He made it apparent that he wanted nothing to do with me, yet I still wanted to learn more about him. It was strange really.

"Do you have any of your yearbooks from that time period when he was younger?"

Jenna raised her head at my question. She seemed taken off guard, but she uncrossed her legs and moved over to dresser anyway. She opened the top drawer and grabbed two hardback books. "Since I'm one grade ahead of Declan, these are my seventh and eighth grade yearbooks."

I took them out of her hands, spinning around in her chair to set them on her desk. I started with her seventh grade one first.

"Why are you so interested in Declan Gray?" Jenna asked. "Every time he's talked to you, he's been very mean. Why do you want to know more about him?"

A heavy sigh escaped my lungs as I flipped quickly through the yearbook in front of me. "He's hiding something, Jenna. Something is going on with him and I honestly think he needs help, but is too shy to ask for it."

"So you think you can maybe help him?"

"Once I figure out what's wrong with him, I can," I responded as I finally the sixth grade class. My eyes scanned over the page, searching for the last name Gray or anything that looked remotely like Declan.

"He's not in here, Jenna. He's not even listed in the not pictured section."

"Try my eighth grade yearbook. Maybe they forgot to list him or something. He has to be in there somewhere."

I sighed, moving her seventh grade yearbook to the side and grabbing a hold of the other one. The seventh grade class was on page seventy-six and I quickly flipped to it, hoping to find something about Declan Gray; anything about him.

I was disappointed.

There was no sign of Declan and there was only one person that looked remotely like him, but it was a girl. Taylor Sophia Clarkson was her name and the only similarity she had with Declan was that their face and eye shape were the same.

I slammed the book shut. "He's not in that one either, Jenna. Seriously, what is with this guy? Why is he so hard to find stuff out about?"

Jenna sighed, flipping her notebook closed. "Okay, Josh, if you want to learn more about Declan Gray so bad, I'll help you out. I'll talk to Hayley and try to see if she'll open up about him a little bit, alright?"
