--Josh's P.O.V--

As soon as I slid into the booth at Steak and Shake, Jenna was on me.

"Oh my God, Josh, what happened to you?"

At first I didn't understand how she knew that I was hurting unless I cringed when I sat down, which I probably did. However, I soon learned that somehow I managed to get my face scratched in the process of fighting with Parker.

"Your face is bleeding." Jenna slid out of the booth next to Tyler, who also looked extremely concerned, before plopped down next to me with a napkin in her hand. "Here, Josh, look at me."

A heavy sigh left my lungs as I slowly turned my head to give the blonde full access to my scratched cheek. "Jenna, seriously, I'm fine. It's just a little scratch."

Tyler raised his eyebrows. "Josh, it's not just the scratch. You seemed like you could hardly walk when you came in here, your hair is sticking up all over the place, and when you sat down your whole body cringed."

I shrugged. "It's nothing. I just fell on the way here and hurt my tailbone."

"You did not just fall!" Jenna protested. "You're lying. I can tell by your hands."

I looked down to see that I was clenching my hands so hard that my knuckles were white. However, I chose to stay completely silent.

Jenna sighed. "Seriously, what happened? You know that you can trust us."

I opened my mouth to respond, but was interrupted by the door opening.

"Josh!"

I turned my head at the sound of my name to see Declan Gray dressed in his varsity jacket, storming into the Streak and Shake. His feet quickly carried him over to our table and a look of concern overtook the current look of worry that was on his face.

Jenna instantly got up to sit beside her boyfriend once again, leaving Declan to appear beside me. He caught me off guard by shoving my shoulder. "Joshua Dun, what happened?" His voice was quite firm and he seemed to forget that Tyler and Jenna were also here.

"That's what I keep wondering," Jenna muttered.

Declan seemed to not even hear her words as he kept his eyes glued on me. "I overheard Parker and the other hockey players bragging that they beat you up. How bad are you hurting? And do not say it doesn't hurt because I get beat up a lot by them and I know it hurts."

"Parker Axton attacked you?" Jenna and Tyler both exclaimed.

I rolled my eyes. "Declan, I'm fine seriously. I only hurt my tailbone and scratched my face a little bit. I'm good."

Declan sighed, running a hand through his hair. "I just wanted to make sure you were alright. I was worried, but I'll let you guys return to your dinner."

The boy turned on his heel and headed towards the door, but Jenna decided to speak.

"Um, Declan, would you like to eat dinner with us?"

The younger boy stopped in his tracks and at first I thought he wasn't going to turn around, but very slowly, he did.

"I don't want to intrude. I just wanted to make sure that Josh was alright." His words caused my cheeks to flare a deep red, but no one seemed to notice.
