The Mermaid I Am

Chapter six

"No I'm not!" I said back in disbelief. "Yes you are" he said in a sweetish tone. "How do you know!" I said back almost mad. "I've known since the day you got here. I didn't think it was possible..for there to be another one like me." He said back. "That's impossible!! I've been a HUMAN for my whole life!" I said back upset. "You know when you get in water you feel strange?" He asked me back. "Yes?" I said back. I had forgot about that. "Well I used to feel the same way when I was your age. Whenever you turn the age of 19 your fins and scales come in." He said back. "What?!? I'll be 19 in two weeks!" I said back. If this is true then in less then two weeks I'll be a.....mer...mermaid. "Wow! No wonder I felt such a strong sense whenever I was around you." He said back. "So if all this is true....what's going to happen to me?" I asked him curiously. "Well I guess you'll just have to keep it a secret and stay here." He said back "And how do you think I'm going to be able to do that! I have a family! There going to want to see me! And if all this is true then why don't I have a tail!" I said angrily. "On your 19 birth day your tail will come in. Just like mine." He said back in a culm tone. "Ok" I said back. He's voice was very culling and I quickly relaxed. "So what do you want to do now?" I asked. "Well you still own me that picnic." He said. "Oh yeah! That's a great idea. We can have it near the lake." I said happily. "Ok I'll meet back here in two minutes!" He said to me. "Ok!" I said back. I still had what he had just told me on my mind. How could this even be possible! It can't be...can it? I mean he's a merman so why couldn't I be a mermaid? But my moms definitely not a mermaid and my dad.... well now that I think about it.. I don't know.. I was so little when he died.. I can't remember much about him. Still I don't think that this is possible. As I tried to process all this information I walked into the cabin. I ran to my room to get dressed. I picked up this beautiful blue dress that faded to a light blue at the bottom. I put it on and walked into the bathroom. As I brushed my long hair I heard the splash. "That's my cue" I thought to myself almost breaking a laugh. I walked out my room and down the hall to the door as I looked out I saw Adam. He had put out a blanket and has some food for us to eat. He had also brought flowers. How he got all this so fast, I have no idea. I walked down the steps and went to go sit next to him. "Wow" he said. "You look beautiful." He told me. "Aw thank you!" I said back with a slight blush. As I sat down he handed me a plate. It had all sorts A foods on it. From grapes to strawberries and even cooked fish. "Where do you get all this stuff from?" I asked him. "My house" he said. " and that is where exactly?" I asked him. "Oh it's just across the lake" he said to me. "Oh haha I thought you lived under water." I said with a giggle. "Haha no i live on land. One day I'll take you there and you can see it for your self" he said to me. "Ok!" I said back
