Prologue

"I'm going to kiss you now." Chris whispered softly as leaned towards me.

I didn't say anything as Chris slowly brought his face to mine. He wove his hand through my hair and just as our lips were about to touch, I took that as an initiative to set my plan into action. I swiftly kneed Chris in the crotch before running out of his bedroom and shutting the door behind me. I grabbed the lock and key that were in my back pocket, smirking all the while as I locked Chris in his bedroom.

Ah, sweet, sweet, revenge.

I whistled cheerfully, swinging the key around my finger, as I walked downstairs back to the party. I ignored Chris' yells that could barely be heard over the music playing and the people talking. Chris, that bastard, had been so sneaky this year. He hung a piece of mistletoe over his bed on his ceiling, so when he invited me to his bedroom, he could easily catch me off guard and kiss me. I bet Chris thought I wouldn't ever consider the fact that he was smart enough to hang a mistletoe in his bedroom. But of course I was. I already knew something was up when Chris didn't try to make a single move on me downstairs in the living room. And when he invited me to his bedroom, well lets just say that Chris never invites me there. So obviously I knew something was wrong and me being the smart person I am, well I think you've guessed. I fished out a lock and key I found lying around in Chris' drawer when he went to the bathroom and hid it in my back pocket. Luckily for me, everything turned out how I assumed it probably would. I think you could safely say that Chris was very predictable.

I enjoyed the next few hours of the party in peace. I talked and laughed and basically had a wonderful time. A wonderful, Chris-free time. When it was time to go, I ran upstairs to Chris' bedroom and stuck the key to his door so someone would notice it when they walked by. Then I slid a note to Chris. I'm sure your probably curious as to what the note said so I'll tell you.

It went as follows...

My dear, dear Chris,

How was the party? Did you have fun because I know I had one hell of a great time (without you :-D) Oh no, I'm rambling off . Okay, I'll get to the point now, which is...(cue drum rolls please)

Don't mess with me! I've managed to get away from you every year so GIVE UP! I always find a way to escape from you and I must say that every year I've gone out with a bang!

So my friend (or enemy or maybe even frenemy...it's up to you really), don't try to kiss me next year because you won't suceed. Jenna Maverick isn't getting kissed by Chris Walker any time soon. Wait, scratch that. She's never getting kissed by him, EVER!

Yours Truly,

Jenna xxx

Ps. Don't forget to bring a tray of your mum's cookies when you come to babysit with me on Sunday!

PPs. Don't forget Jake's DS or he won't stop annoying us on Sunday

PPPs. Make sure you get a good nights sleep on Saturday because you're no fun when your tired and grumpy. As everyone knows...

A tired Chris = A grumpy Chris.

PPPPs. There's no more Ps.'s after

this :-)

I smiled at the thought of Chris reading the note. His reaction would be priceless! I'd love to video it and send it viral on youtube! But of course I couldn't because as I was about to find...

Life never goes as planned.
