Chapter 3

To say I was freaking out this morning was an understatement. No words could describe how worried, scared and nervous I was. The thing was though, there was no reason for me to feel like this. I was confident that I wouldn't fall in love with Chris, right?

I had told Clara everything that had happened yesterday when we got home from school. Instead of giving me advice on what to do, she did something I totally didn't expect her to.

"Oh my god, that is absolutely hilarious!" Clara managed to say in between her fits of laughter. "Only you Jenna, only you would do something like this. A bet? What were you thinking? Oh well, what's done is done. But I must say, Chris is one smart bastard. It's about time he did something about his feelings."

"Feelings, what feelings?" I asked, sitting up properly now.

Clara averted her gaze from me and gave an awkward laugh. "Oh nothing. It doesn't matter."

I scrutinised Clara very carefully, trying to see if she was hiding something from me. Clara turned her head away from me and started whistling, acting like nothing had happened.

Yup, she's totally hiding something.

"Tell me, Clara." I demanded. "I know your keeping something from me."

"Me, keep something from you? Never!" Clara exclaimed.

I raised an eyebrow. "Are you sure?" I asked again.

"Definately."

"Okay then." I wasn't totally convinced but if Clara didn't want to talk, who was I to force her?

"So what do you think I should do?" I asked, changing the topic.

Clara turned her head back to me. "Just go along with it." She advised thoughtfully.

"Go along with it? But I don't want to!" I complained, grabbing a pillow and putting my face into it.

"Why not? Are you afraid you'll fall in love with Chris?" Clara questioned, a slight smile on her face.

"No." I said, my voice muffled because of the pillow.

Clara heard me though because she raised an eyebrow. "Oh really?"

"Yeah. I'm totally confident that there is nothing in this world that Chris could do to make me fall in love with him." I stated with confidence and assurance as I raised my head from the pillow.

"We'll see, Jenna, we'll see."

As I walked into school, or more like sneaked, I kept a careful watch for Chris. If Chris couldn't find me, he couldn't make me fall in love with him.

Genius right?

Obviously not because Chris grabbed me from behind as soon as I got to my locker. I have no idea how he found me though because I was looking out for him at all times. Damn you Chris, damn you and your stupid ninja skills.

"Trying to hide from me?" Chris whispered in my ear.

"No."

Chris let out a small chuckle. "Right," He said, his tone laced with sarcasm. "Like I'll believe that."

I tried to remove Chris' hands from my waist but that only caused him to tighten his grip on me even more. I gave a huff of annoyance, crossing my arms over my chest. "You're such a jerk," I said, glaring at him. "No joke."

"Nice to know, sweetheart."

"Why are you here anyway?" I questioned, changing the topic. "Don't you have more important things to do?"
