Chapter 5

"Jenna." Chris drawled as he dragged out my name.

"Yes?" I answered as I continued to fiddle with the edge of my sleeve.

It was break right now and Chris and I were currently outside, sitting together on a bench.

"You know it's the winter festival today right?" Chris asked as he turned his head to look my way.

I nodded. "Yeah, of course I do. Everyone in town knows about it."

Chris' lips curved up into an amused smile. "Well I was wondering if you wanted to go with me. We can meet up with the others there."

"Okay sure." I easily agreed.

After having a fantastic time yesterday, I really wanted to hang out with Chris' friends again. Of course I wanted to hang out with Chris as well; to my surprise he was turning out to be a really great guy-not the annoying one that I knew. Perhaps he was always a great guy and I never took the time to see it. I was so blinded by my annoyance for Chris that I never really took the time to get to know him.

Chris grinned as he said, "Great, make sure you dress warmly, I heard it's going to be chilly."

"Oooh, do you think it's going to snow Chris? I absolutely love the snow." I said dreamily as my head filled with thoughts of a winter wonderland.

Chris chuckled when he saw my expression. "Hopefully it will. Maybe we could go sledging or something together when it does."

"That would be awesome!" I answered excitedly. "We could make snowmen and snowangels, maybe even have a snowball fight..."

"Yeah we could." Chris said as his lips curved up into a smile, a distant look in his eyes as he too, thought of the great things we could do in the snow.

"I can't wait!" I exclaimed.

"It would be hilarious if it didn't snow now," Chris grinned devillishly. "You would be so disappointed."

I gave Chris a glare. "No it wouldn't and me being disappointed is not something you should find amusement in."

Chris put his hands up as he said, "Okay, okay, I was just saying. Calm yourself woman."

"Well don't say mean things like that or I won't hang out with you anymore."

"Sorry sweetheart, I won't. I just enjoy teasing you, that's all." Chris answered as he inched closer towards me on the bench.

We were only a few centimetres apart now and I could feel Chris' hand touching mine.

"Good because you would lose the bet if I didn't hang out with you anymore." I smirked evilly at him.

Chris' eyes narrowed as he said, "I wouldn't want that to happen."

"Why not?" I asked curiously. "Why are you so determined to make me fall in love with you?"

An unknown emotion flashed in Chris's eyes. "Now isn't the right time to tell you."

"Why?" I whined, pouting a little.

"Because it isn't."

"Then when will you tell me?" I huffed as I folded my arms.

"How about on...Christmas." Chris grinned.

"Ughh." I groaned. "I can't wait that long! The curiousity will kill me."

"You got that right." Chris said cheekily. "As they say, curiousity killed the cat."
