Chapter 6

"So," Clara said as a cheeky grin took over her face. "I saw Chris and you getting cozy at the festival yesterday."

"We weren't getting cozy," I rolled my eyes. "We were talking."

"Talking, right." Clara answered sarcastically.

"But we were." I argued back.

"Alright, whatever you say." Clara said, although her tone of voice completely contradicted what she said.

"So, are we having our movie marathon as usual tonight?" I asked, subtly changing the topic.

It was a tradition between Clara and I, since we were 11 years old, to have a movie marathon every Friday.

"Well," Clara started.

Oh no, she wants to do something else. Please don't be a bad idea.

"I was wondering if we could go to the Christmas Party, we are breaking up for the holidays today after all."

My eyebrows furrowed as I thought about what Clara had said. "I don't know, I was planning to stay in and relax."

"Please?" Clara pouted. "Pretty please with a cherry on top? Scratch that, I'll give you a million cherries."

"Why does Jenna want cherries?" Cole asked as he walked up to us and wrapped an arm around Clara's shoulder.

A slight blush took over Clara's face and I mentally gushed over how cute they both looked.

"Oh, no reason. I was just convincing Jenna here that she should come to the Christmas Party with me."

Cole's eyes widened and a grin took over his face. "You do know who hosts that party, right?"

Confused expressions took over our faces as we stared at Cole completely bewildered.

"No." Clara and I answered simultaneously.

"Well you girls are in for a surprise, it's me!" Cole exclaimed as his grin widened.

Cole? Cole was the one who hosted the infamous, wild Christmas Parties? That party was considered to be one of the best ever and was the only party people really looked forward too. Clara and I had never bothered to go before because we thought it was totally not our scene. I guess Cole is rubbing off on Clara.

"That was so unexpected." I blinked.

"Yeah, totally." Clara replied with an equally shocked expression on her face. However, after a minute or two, her expression turned into one of excitement and mischeviousness.

Oh no.

"Jenna." Clara grinned evily as she dragged out my name.

"Yes?" I answered unwillingly as I screwed up my face, ready for the worst.

"You do know that you'll have to come to the party now, right?"

"Dammit." I muttered under my breath, a scowl on my face. I quickly replaced it with a fake smile though, when Clara sent me a glare.

"She'll go babe, don't worry about. I'll sort it all out." Cole grinned as he sent me a wink.

A wink, seriously? That totally gave it away, I know for sure now that Cole is up to no good. My first reason for knowing being that his tone and words were very suggestive, and second, as you already know, he winked.

"Aww, thanks so much Cole!" Clara exclaimed as she threw her arms around Cole in a hug. "You're such a sweetheart."

A cocky smirk replaced Cole's mischevious grin as he hugged Clara. I watched as his hands lowered dangerously close to Clara's butt, and being the good friend I was, I sent Cole a murderous glare.
