When they finally reached school, Amanda hurriedly left the car. But before she could run ahead, Brandon stopped her tracks. "Where are you off to? You don't think you can get away that easily, do you?" he said as he fixes his school tie.
"I'd love to get away from you and all your crazy bipolar personality if you'd like to know. I don't want to end up having a bad day in school since I'm already living with a brat like you." Amanda said, full hatred in her voice.
Brandon smirked. He moved closer towards Amanda. "Brat? You've got to do better than that sis. The war is just beginning." and with that he grinned.
Amanda looked at him feeling disgusted. She felt her anger boiling. Bipolar freak, rude brat. Those were the words floating around in her head as she looked at Brandon. Without realising, Lisa came up towards her and knuckle-bumped her arm. Amanda turned swiftly to see who it was. "Oh, Lis. Morning."
"Good morning," Lisa chirped. Her eyes moved to the dark-haired guy beside Amanda. His brown eyes were staring at her menacingly. Shockingly she found it attractive to see a guy staring at her like that. Most guys would flirt around with her and sometimes pass out lewd remarks at her. "Who's that.." She said as she points her finger towards Brandon.
Amanda looked at her friend's direction of pointing. "Oh. This kid here? He's Brandon, my-"
"Her neighbour.", Brandon interrupted. " Amanda's sort of tutoring me part time and supposed to look out on me in school. Ain't that right, Mandy?"
Amanda was clueless on what to do. Lisa is her best friend so she should be knowing the truth, but at the same time Brandon felt threatening to her. In the end she decided to play along with whatever Brandon wants to say. "Yeah.. It's like what.. he said."
"Oh.. Well then, I'm Lisa. Amanda's friend.", Lisa said flirtatiously. She held out her hand and exchanged handshakes with Brandon. "If you ever need to find Amanda she's always hanging with me, just giving some heads up."
"Sure." Brandon smiled. Amanda looked at him in disbelief. This kid! He has some nerve acting nice around my friend! Who does he think he is? What a two-faced, bipolar-ish, rude brat! Here's a new word to describe him, two faced; Amanda thought to herself.
Lisa and Brandon continued talking about the school facilities since apparently she's interested in showing him around. Amanda kept quiet and thought of an excuse to leave both of them.
"Manda!", a voice called out from afar.
Amanda, being a bit short-sighted squinted her eyes to see who it was calling her name from afar. Turns out it was Nate who was waving at her. Amanda smiled and waved back. "Yo!"
Brandon saw this and stopped talking to Lisa. He looked at where Nate was standing. "Who's that?" he asked Lisa.
"Oh that. That's Nate. Amanda has this crush thing on him for a year now hahah." she laughed a little.
Amanda pinched Lisa's arm. "Don't tell him that! It's none of his business!"
"Ow, hey! Chill girl! If you two are going to be living as neighbours I bet you both are going to end up being close friends one day. It's not wrong to let him in on your little secret." Lisa teased Amanda as she elbowed Amanda.
"Close friends? As if!" Amanda and Brandon said at the same time. The both of them looked at each other, frowning.
"Oh come on, don't be like that." Lisa tried to ease the tension she was feeling between them.
Amanda rolled her eyes and pulled Lisa by the arm, dragging her friend away from her freaky brother. The both of them walked towards the school hall.
