The next morning Amanda woke up with a wide smile on her face. It has been quite some time since she felt extremely happy like this. Even though she was upset with Brandon's doing yesterday, she felt like it did not matter much to her today. She was going to relax and focus on her own life.
Amanda got up from her bed and changed into her bathrobe. Leaving her room, she walked towards the bathroom that she had been sharing with her brother. However, when she tried to turn the knob on the bathroom door, it was locked. She pressed her ear against the door. She heard the sound of the shower.
Meh, it's still early. I can wait; Amanda thought to herself. After pacing in front of the door for minutes, the door finally opened. Brandon stepped out with his hair wet and he was wearing his bathrobe as well. He looked at Amanda who was standing in front of him.
Amanda looked at him indifferently and gestured him to move. Brandon, who was always sick of her existence immediately left for his room.
After getting ready, Amanda left her room and went downstairs as Brandon was waiting for her at the front door. Amanda walked past him. "Morning," she mumbled. Brandon nodded slightly. He was in no mood to talk with anyone at the moment.
As they arrived at school, as usual Amanda would proceed towards her locker to meet her best friend there. As she was walking, she stopped her tracks when she saw Lisa talking to Nate. They were laughing. Lisa? Talking to Nate? But I thought she despises him; she wondered. Oh well.
Amanda walked towards them, smiling. "Hey guys."
Lisa looked at her, "Hiiiiii! Good morning dear!", she chirped.
"Wow, you're in a good mood." Amanda said as she giggled slightly. She liked seeing her best friend smile. "And good morning to you," she said, looking at Nate.
Nate smiled back. "Morning. I'll leave you both alone for a while. When you're done come and meet me outside my class?" He said to Amanda.
Amanda flicked her hair to the back of her ear. Smiling, she replied, "Sure. Meet ya later."
As soon as Nate left, Amanda opened her locker door and start picking out her books. Lisa on the other hand was just standing and waiting for her. "You seem to bond well with him," Amanda said as she put her books into her schoolbag.
"Who? Me and Nate?" Lisa pointed at herself.
"Duh, who else?" Amanda laughed a little.
" He's not all bad I guess. I mean, what's the point of being a classmate if I never talk to him right?"
" True... So, you're saying that you're okay with hanging out with him?"
"Yeah."
"Oh my god that's great!" Amanda said happily. She felt like she was lucky today. Now that Lisa's okay with Nate, the three of them can hang together. Amanda shuts her locker door. "Come, I'll walk you to class." she told Lisa.
"Thanks." Lisa replied. The both of them walked towards Lisa's class together. Lisa walked into class. She turned back to look at Amanda. "You're not leaving?"
Amanda grinned. "No.. Could you please call Nate out for me?"
Lisa smiled teasingly, "Sure."
She proceeded towards her seat and placed her bag there. After that, she went over to Nate's table and gestured with her hand that Amanda was waiting outside. Nate turned to look at Amanda. Amanda smiled and waved. Nate smiled as well. He got up and walked up to Amanda.
"Hey, have you done your homework yet?" Amanda asked, her eyes gleaming happily. She was happy because she finally had the courage to talk to the guy she likes in front people without having to worry people would tease her about it. We're together now right?
