Next Day (School)

Amanda and Brandon walked towards the school hall together, but with a wide space between them. The both of them had their cool faces on, which is rare considering most days they would arrive at school looking like they just had a big fight.

Upon arriving at the school hall, the both of them parted ways to their lockers. Amanda noticed Lisa waiting near her locker. Her steps slowed down. What could that girl possibly want from her?

Lisa had a smile on her face as she saw her "best friend" approaching her. "Took you long enough to get here." She said to Amanda.

Amanda opened up her locker door, not wanting to see the mischievous smile on Lisa's face. "What's up?"

"Oh nothing, just wanted to know the latest scoop about your life at the moment."

Amanda scoffed. "Puh-lease. I didn't know you still want to be a part of my life, considering you made a ruckus out of our friendship." She replied sarcastically while taking out her Science workbook from her locker.

Lisa's face stiffened. She really wanted to slap Amanda in the face. It was her fault for making their friendship a ruckus. It was her fault Brandon was probably avoiding to get close to her. It was all Amanda's fault!

Amanda closed her locker door and decided to proceed to class since Lisa wasn't saying anything else. But before she could walk away, she felt her arm being grabbed. Lisa tightened her grip on Amanda's arm, moving close to her friend to whisper, "I know your secret Amanda, you better be careful."

Amanda's expression changes. What is it with people and spilling secrets?? Secrets are meant to be kept silent about, yet people are always eager to let it out for the world to know.

She turned around to face Lisa who wore a smirk on her pretty face.

Pulling her arm off her friend's grasp, Amanda asked Lisa in an annoyed tone, "Wow, congratulations, I wonder what else you would know about me?"

"Oh, something really interesting." Lisa eyed Brandon who was leaning against his locker door, with a notebook in his hand. He appeared to be memorizing something. Notes perhaps.

Amanda followed Lisa's eyes and noticed she was staring at Brandon. Interesting? What else is interesting that revolves around Brandon? Oh wait- Amanda's eyes widened with alarm. No way! She couldn't have found out, could she?

Lisa returned her attention back to Amanda, who was now looking paler than before. She smirked to herself. Turns out Amanda wasn't that stupid after all. "Exactly," she said softly. "I know he's your brother Amanda," she continued.

"W-what?"

"Listen here Amanda. I don't know why you would keep something so important from me, but whatever your reason was, you are a terrible friend."

Amanda could feel her breath stuck in her throat. She wanted to say something, anything, but she couldn't.

"I'm going to make this easy for you. Don't get too close to Brandon, and this secret stays safe." Lisa leaned closer, "I mean, you wouldn't want people to treat him badly right? Being an adopted child, just makes him somewhat useless to anyone in such a prestigious school like ours.

Amanda felt her temper rising. Tears filled her eyes. "Listen, you. I've had enough with you snatching Nate away from me, and now you're after my brother? You must be really mad. You've got nerves messing with me!"

"Aw sweetie. The only reason we were friends in the first place was because I felt sorry for you. Other than that, I don't need you that much."

Amanda finally caved. Her tears flowed down her cheeks. It was bad enough she had difficulties making friends, and now she had to found out the only close friend she had was never truly her friend in the first place!
