Brandon was just about to take a seat on the comfortable looking sofa when the doorbell rang.

"..and I was just about to relax..." he said to himself. He got up and took a peek at the doorhole. He opened the door. "Hey, what brings you here?"

"I was looking for Amanda. I wanted to join her in this whole tutoring thing." the familiar girl answered.

Brandon furrowed his eyebrows. "But she's staying back in school to meet up with her 'boyfriend'. Shouldn't you know that?"

Lisa's expression changed. Oh crap. What a terrible lie, Lisa! Way to go. "Uh.. oh right! I forgot! I uh.. I guess I'll just go" she stammered.

"Wait." Brandon called out before Lisa leaves the front porch. Lisa turned to face Brandon. "You could come in and wait for Amanda if you'd like to. I was about to order some takeout.", he gestured towards the door.

Lisa smiled sweetly. "Sure. I'd like that." she walked up the steps to the front door and entered the house with Brandon.

On the other hand...

"Come on.. Why are you not picking up your phone??" Amanda exclaimed in a frustrated way. She had been trying to contact her driver but no one was answering her calls. That man. Just because I told him to pick me up at five doesn't mean he can just ignore my calls!

Amanda checked on the walking distance from her school to her house. A 40 minute walk? You've got to be kidding me. By car is 15 minutes! How can there be such a difference between the numbers?! Ugh. Amanda bit her bottom lip and argued with herself whether to walk or just wait. Oh, but this cannot wait. I have talk to Brandon now. Fine then, I'll walk.

In the living room, Brandon and and Lisa were chatting while sitting on each of the ends on the sofa.

"You know when Amanda said you're always in her home I didn't believe her. Until you opened the door for me then I was assured. Isn't it weird though? You waiting in her house just so she could tutor you? It's almost like you live here too!" Lisa laughed.

Brandon laughed briefly. "Yeah, our parents are good neighbours. They let me enter the house anytime I want to. It's nice." he said as he took a bite off the chicken dumpling from the takeout box.

"Wow, even I'm her best friend and they don't treat me that way. Why'd you move back anyway? Is boarding school that boring?" she joked.

"Boarding school?"

"Yeah. Sorry, Amanda once mentioned back then that her neighbour's son is studying in a boarding school somewhere. I was curious about your family back then you know."

Brandon wondered. Coincidentally their neighbour really had a son who was in boarding school? Wow, what a perfect lie I made up. Brandon smiled at Lisa and continued eating.

"Don't you wonder why I'm so curious about your family?"

Brandon shrugged. "I don't know. It doesn't matter to me."

Lisa rested her chin on her palm. "Well I want to tell you anyway. When I first became friends with Amanda, she invited me over for this small tea gathering event which I can barely recall. And your parents were in town too I guess cause they showed up as well. When Amanda introduced me to your parents and they told me they had a son in boarding school, I became intrigued to know about you. They never showed any photos or described you but I can already imagine how perfect of a guy you are. Your parents own one of the largest hotel company in our country, how can you not be shaped into perfection, right?" she said as she looked at Brandon dreamily.
