Re-cap :
He caught my chin between his thumb and forefinger and gave me a warm and passionate kiss. I had a pretty clear idea now that Daniel and I were more than friends. His kiss told me that, it told me everything.
"Let me take you out tonight," he said, his ice blue eyes boring into my green ones, almost pleading.
At that moment, I forgot all about my plans with Scottie.
"Okay." I smiled and he enveloped me in another heart fluttering kiss.

Daniel drove me home to freshen up before our date. I had to admit, I really was excited. Only now did I see why girls liked him, although I was the only one who really knew him. I can see how they fell for his devilishly good looks but I was only now appreciating them fully. It was silent throughout the drive, Daniel stole glances at me and I him, always catching each other. His smile was warm and it had butterflies fluttering wildly in my stomach. He inched his hand toward mine slowly, hesitant. I didn't pull away once and when his hand finally slid into mine, I almost gasped from the tingles that went shooting up my arm. Daniel's hand was warm, his thumb rubbed circles on mine. It felt nice just being with him.
When we arrived at my apartment, I couldn't help but feel disappointed. Daniel kept his hand in mine as we ascended the staircase only letting go to let me open the door. My hands jittered as I fumbled with my keys in the lock. Daniel's slow, deep breaths on my neck were too distracting to focus. He placed his hands on my hips and drawled into my ear,
"Let me get that for you." His lips softly grazed my ear as he said it, making me collapse into a puddle at his feet. Daniel took the keys from my grasp and led us into my apartment.
The butterflies in my stomach were still very much present and I was a little intimidated by my own emotions. Never would I have anticipated I would feel this way for Daniel Collins, but I do.
Before Daniel could tempt me away, I fled to my room, alone, to take a quick shower. At least in the shower I could think straight. And that's when I remembered Scottie.
"S**t!" I hissed while mentally kicking myself. Sticky situation I had just got myself into.
Quickly, without any thought process, I cleaned up, my body controlling itself. I couldn't believe I had forgotten about Scottie!
As I fumbled around my room, hopping on one leg trying to pull my jeans up, my cell phone buzzed. I narrowed my eyes and strained my ears to hear where it was coming from. After listening for more than a few seconds, I caught a glimpse of the light from beneath my pillow. How it got there, I will never know.
"Hello?" I said into the speaker.
"Hey Lou, it's me. I'll pick you up about eight, it that okay?" Scottie asked and I didn't have the heart to cancel on him.
"Sure, eight's fine but can I meet you there? I've got a few things to do first," I asked, hopeful he wouldn't offer to come with me. Right on cue Scottie being the gentleman he is, offered his help,
"You need me to drive you? If you want some company I can come with."
"No, that's okay, but thanks anyway."
"Oh, okay. I'll see you later then?" His voice sounded somewhat deflated and I couldn't help but feel a little guilty.
"Scottie?" I asked praying he hadn't disconnected the line yet.
