Louisa's P.O.V
We arrived at the Olive Garden and were ushered into a booth. A waiter came to take our order, a very cute waiter with cute boyish looks.
"Hey, ladies. What can I get you?" He finished off with a handsome grin. Paula and I exchanged a look that said hot! and we both turned to him with grins of our own.
"I'll make this easy, two cokes, two flat-breads, a salad bowl and water, please. Oh! And those garlic bread finger thingies," Paula batted her eyelashes at him and I almost cracked up.
"Sparkling or still?" The waiter asked still smiling back at her.
"Is that the pick-up line you use on all the girls here?" I had to hide my face to not let them see my silent laughter. They were flirting over water. This was one of those times I wished I had a camcorder.
"None as pretty as you," he gave her a little wink. Paula giggled and flicked her hair behind her shoulder.
"I'll bet," she muttered under her breath.
"Well, I think I'll be adventurous and go with sparkling."
"Sparkling it is."
"And," Paula continued. "If there's any possibility of getting our food here faster then we'll give you a nice tip," this time she winked at him.
"I'll keep that in mind."
I laughed out loud when he left our table and shook my head at her.
"And what would Mike, the love of your life, the apple to your eye, say if he knew you were flirting shamelessly with a very cute waiter," I questioned, wagging my finger at her.
"He'd say, do whatever you have to do so we can eat," she giggled and I joined in.
"True, no messing with Mike and his food. The boy's a tank!"
"Mmm, you bet," Paula wriggled her eyebrows, earning a shriek of laughter from me.
"My boy knows I'm only kidding around. He knows I love him," she grinned.
The waiter then came back with our drinks and sparkling water, along with a salad bowl and garlic bread.
"Made sure it came extra quick," he said placing everything in-front of us.
"You sure did, thank you..."
"John."
"Thanks John," Paula smiled then turned to our food.
"So," Paula said while scooping a pile of salad onto her plate. "What's the news?"
"Oh, well like you said, you're not going to like it but, please just hear me out," I pleaded.
"When do I ever jump to conclusions babe?" She asked, a hand over her chest.
"Oh! Never, I'm sorry, you're always the good listener, keep your opinion to yourself kinda girl," I shook my head, voice dripping with sarcasm.
"Details, details, just get to the story," she rolled her eyes, waving a hand.
"Well...first things first, Scottie and I aren't on the best of terms right now," I confessed, feeling a little guilty.
"If that's because of that a-hole, I will personally make sure he can never have children," she said sternly pointing a knife in my direction.
