Louisa's P.O.V

The bell signaling the end of the school day rang. I jumped up from my seat in Math class, my bag already packed five minutes ago, and ran out of the door before anyone could utter a word to me. I was one of the first few students to leave the school campus, which was rare for me, I always delayed going home until I couldn't hold off any longer.

I started to walk down the street, hoping I was heading in the right direction to Daniel's house. The street name and his house number, I knew off by heart, everyone did, there was always parties at his when his parents weren't home. The only thing I was unsure of, was the route I had to take in order to get there. A party at Daniel Collins house had never appealed to me before, I think I had only been to one in sophomore year but I couldn't remember the way as, one, it was two years ago, and two, Paula's mom had driven us.

As I was walking, a car pulled up beside me and crawled along in pace with me. The passenger window opened and a fairly familiar face appeared, ducking his head so I could see him from the drivers seat.

"Need a ride? You look lost," Connor Erickson called. I knew him pretty well, he was in some of my classes and he was a jock along with Daniel and Scottie. He wasn't someone I spoke to regularly, in-fact, we hardly ever had a conversation. He wasn't a complete douche but he sure could act like one sometimes.

"I'm fine, thanks," I smiled and continued walking.

"Where you headed? I bet I could get you there in half the time it will take you on foot...and by the time you figure out the right way." he added, amusement clear in his voice.

"And how do you know I'm not on the right track right now?" I ask, my chin sticking out defiantly and my arms crossed over my chest.

"Well, right now you're heading towards the grocery store and dry cleaners. There's nothing else down there," Connor pointed out, gesturing to the street I was walking along with his head and forefinger.

"Okay, can you give me directions and I'll get out of your hair?"

"Just get in," he shaked his head, bored and unlocks the door, swinging it open.

"You know, you could really damage your car driving around with your door open," I said, smirking just a little.

"Alright, smartass. Just get in the damn car and close it," Connor's was getting frustrated now and I'll bet he wished he never offered to give me a ride.

I got in and he turned the car around. We drove for a while.

"What brings you to this part of town?" Connor asked.

"Just because I'm not rich doesn't mean I can't come here," I pointed out.

"I never said that," he said, holding his hands up in surrender.

"Hands on the wheel!" I quickly reminded him and he chuckled. "And I'll have you know, I live in a nice part of town."

"I don't doubt that you do," he chuckled.

"And to answer your question, I have to get to Daniel Collins' house."

"Stalker," he gave me a grin and I threw him a death glare.

"How am I, in any way, a stalker?" I asked baffled.

"Come on, it's bad enough the way you girls pine over him in school, but now you're actually going to his house!"
