Louisa's P.O.V

The next week was filled with exams. I had stressed for weeks before and now they were all over. There was no point in worrying anymore, there was nothing more I could do so now it was time to focus on my last month as a high school senior.

With so much happening in the last few months, Daniel and I becoming a couple, studying in every spare minute I had and then Daniel's attack, I had completely forgot the school senior trip. Ten days in sunny Florida with my friends, nothing sounded better at the moment, I desperately needed that holiday.

All the money I required was deposited into my bank account two weeks before it was due, it was a miracle. A phone call two days later informed me my grandmother had written a will before she became ill and she had saved the money for me for the trip. I had been so grateful and I suddenly realised how much I missed her. Her absence had never been something I had noticed since Daniel was mostly here with me and I tried to stay out with my friends when he couldn't be here but after hearing all she had done for me, all the planning, I missed her and I felt so guilty I hadn't before.

After hearing nothing about my grandmother since she had been taken away I finally got the chance to go and visit her, it had been emotional as it was closure. I wouldn't see my grandmother anymore as her condition was too advanced, it wasn't safe anymore. It was hard to let her go completely but clinging to her wouldn't do either of us any good.

After sitting with her and explaining I wouldn't see her again but I loved her dearly and I thanked her for everything, I had left without her uttering a word to me. Daniel had been waiting outside for me and held me as I cried. I knew it was for the best though and now I didn't cry over it, instead I remembered all the good times I had spent with her and I was glad to have those memories.

Her carers did promise me to keep me updated on her, to let me know how she was and I was glad to at least know she wouldn't be completely gone.

I stared out my window waiting on Paula to pull up so we could go dress shopping for prom. I had more than enough money with me to buy a whole outfit, courtesy of Daniel. After protesting with him for a week, he finally had enough and left the money for me in a sealed pink envelope and a rose on my pillow before he left this morning. When I opened up the money sprang out and a letter was tucked in there amongst it.

Morning Beautiful,

Have a good time with Paula today and take this money, I owe you so much more for everything you've done for me. I will never fully pay my debt to you, but I hope you'll let me try for the rest of my life. I know what you're thinking and I don't want you to return a penny of this to me, I want you to feel like a princess, like you should so buy anything your heart desires. I can't wait to see you in it. I love you,

Daniel

I smiled thinking about the sweet letter Daniel had left me. I absolutely adored that boy.

Paula pulled up then and honked the horn of her red mini cooper. I saw her through the window looking up and we exchanged a wave before I grabbed my bag and ran down the stairs, excited to finally be going shopping for my prom dress. Throwing myself into the passenger Paula laughed at me,

"Well, someone's eager." I squealed and she giggled at me.

"I'm just so excited and look!" I thrust Daniel's letter in her face waving it about furiously.

"Calm down woman and stop shaking the damn thing so I can read it!" She huffed but the smile on her lips betrayed her tone.

Her eyes skimmed the few lines and then she looked up at me with a shocked expression.
