Moonbeam's POV
"Ask away, mate. " He said as he sat down in the chair next to mine.
I turned my chair so that I was looking him in the eye. I wanted, no, I needed to be able to tell if he was lying or not.
"First, I want to know how old you are, when your birthday is, and when you are supposed to become Alpha." I didn't bother beating around the bush because that's just how I am.
"Wow. Straight into it then. Well, I am 17 years old, my birthday was exactly 3 months ago, and I am to become Alpha whenever my father sees fit."
I nodded my head taking in this information.
"What about you? " He asked.
"I am 16 years old, my birthday was 2-3 days ago, I'm not exactly sure because I've been running for a while, and I was second Beta in my pack, my brother being the primary Beta to future Alpha Bracken, who is also my sister's mate."
"Woah. So you got some connections don't you? I guess that means that people treated you with the highest respect at your pack right?" He asked. I cringed slightly, thinking about all the bullying.
"Actually....I was bullied frequently, almost everyday since I turned 13, and I was a loner at school and at the pack house. No one wanted to talk to the freak with purple eyes and naturally rainbow colored hair." I shrugged like it meant nothing. Deep inside, even though I like to tell myself and other people that it didn't affect me, I knew that what I said hurt me.
It hurt that people didn't accept me, their own pack member, just because I didn't look normal. But I put up a tough front and always told them it didn't matter because my dad used to tell me that if I let them know that what they do affects me, they'll do it even more.
I shook my head to rid myself of the memories. I didn't want to think about that right now so to get my mind off of everything, I asked Dayton another question.
"So, Alpha Dayton, how big of a player are you?" I leaned back in my chair and smirked at how uncomfortable he looked.
He's panicking. Fang told me he thinks you'll be mad if he answers.
'I'm guessing Fang is his wolf.'
She confirmed what I thought and then I focused back on Dayton.
I could see his palms were starting to get sweaty, his eyes were darting from side to side, and his foot was tapping repeatedly on the carpet.
'He must be really nervous and that means he's a big player.'
Yeah, he is. I just found out that they have been with a lot of girls but apparently they haven't done anything other than kissing with other females.
'I don't know if I should be happy that he saved himself or angry because he didn't save his first kiss for me.'
I didn't get an answer from Gleam though because Dayton had decided to answer my question, finally.
"I guess you could say I'm a player?" He answered hesitantly. I already knew this but it still hurt to hear it from my mate.
I wiped my face of all emotion and just stared blankly at him. He started to look even more worried and I turned my head to the side and started to blink furiously. Tears began to slowly fall out of my eyes and I could feel that my lip was starting to quiver.
He started to look worse than before.
"Why? Why couldn't you just wait for me, your mate? Am I that unimportant to you that you couldn't even wait for me?" I felt the tears flowing down my face more freely.
