Moonbeam's POV
I slid down the window and cradled my aching hands. I had been trying to break the windows but my efforts were futile. My hands were bloodied and bruised, my arms weak and my head was pounding. My eyelids began to feel heavy and all I wanted to do was sleep. My eyes began closing but I shook my head. I couldn't give up. I had to get out of here. I had to get back to Ryker.
I turned and looked out the window again to see Ryker talking to the Vampire doctor. I watched as the doctor's eyes dilated and now most of his eyes were yellow. His nostrils flared and claws were where his nails should be. Ryker turned around and growled. The doctor lunged at Ryker and I banged the palms of my hands against the window.
"RYKER! NO!!" I screamed as the doctor ripped a chunk of Ryker's shoulder out using his claws. I growled as he went after Ryker even more, scratching his face, biting his arm and dragging his nails down Ryker's front. I screamed in anger and pain.
The blue light from earlier came back. It took the form of a tornado and I was in the middle of it. The force of the wind picked me up, my blonde hair whipping everywhere, my eyes shut to avoid getting hurt and my arms pinned to my sides from the wind. My screams were thrown throughout the storm and squashed to nothing. My throat burned and my body ached.
As fast as it had come, the storm left. I could see white light from underneath my eyelids. I opened my eyes and looked around taking in my surroundings. I was back in the hospital room. My eyes stopped on the two figures on the side of my bed. One stood above the other, anger in his eyes and veins popping out of his forehead.
"It is time to finish you!" He screamed and I reached my hand out.
"Stop." I tried to yell but my voice was only a low rasp. Nevertheless, a beam of blue light came out of my hand and swirled around the man, stopping him from taking any further action against his opponent. He looked at me and his eyes held confusion.
"You...are alive?" It took everything I had in me to smirk at his stupefied expression.
"You didn't think it would be that easy did you?" I didn't let him answer though as I closed my open palm into a tight fist and all that remained of the doctor was a pile of dust. I looked at the tile floor where Ryker was, not moving and seemingly dead. I didn't panic though. I simply opened my palm and moved it towards him.
"Heal." I whispered and the blue light lifted Ryker into the air. It turned into a thick, blue mist and passed over his body. It slowly traveled from his toes, over his ripped and ragged shorts, up his naked chest and over his face until it crawled through his hair. The blue mist healed every wound it touched, instantly. Instead of a twisted arm, bloody chest and bruised face, his skin looked smoother than it had even before the fight. The bright blue light faded into a soft blue while setting Ryker on the bed next to me before it dissipated.
"Thank you." A wind blew through the room, as if in reply, before everything was still. I turned my head to the right and sighed.
"Oh Ryker. You can never stay out of trouble, can you, Dear?"
I chuckled and shook my head at his unconscious figure, not caring if he could hear me or not because it felt nice to be able to talk to him face-to-face after being trapped in my head. I turned to look at the ceiling instead of his sleeping face.
"That's okay though because even though you like to cause trouble and get into fights, I wouldn't have you any other way. I love how you act like a bad ass with everyone except for me and our pack. I love how you are possessive over me because it shows that you care and want me. I even love how no matter what, you are always there for me and even if you don't do anything, just being there shows how great of a person you are. I am so grateful that you are my mate and that I just have had the opportunity to know you at all. I don't know what I would do without you...actually, I do. I would go crazy and do everything in my power to get you back because without you, I wouldn't...couldn't go on. I love you Ryker."
I looked over at Ryker to find him grinning at me and I blushed. I turned my heated face back towards the ceiling. I heard Ryker get up from his bed and soon felt his presence right next to side.
"Moon, babe, look at me." I slowly turned my face and looked at Ryker. He took my face into his soft hands as he knelt next to the bed. I was still lying down because my body was a bit sore.
"You don't ever have to be embarrassed to tell me how you feel. I knew that you loved me, or at least hoped that you did, and hearing you say all those things makes me feel...complete. I love you so much and I never want you to forget it. You are my mate, my world, my everything. Not only are you the most important person in my life, but you will always be the only one I will ever look at like this, talk to like this...love like this." He whispered, keeping our eyes locked the whole time. "I love you, Moon. I love you more than you'll ever know."
"I love you, Ryker. Forever and a day." We shared a sweet kiss and the last thought that crossed my mind was, 'I want this to last forever.'
...But nothing lasts forever.
