Moonbeam's POV

It's been three days since I found out that my closest friends and family wanted me dead. Three days since I met my mate and Satelles. Three days since we had been running.

I didn't know where we were going but my instincts told me that we needed to be somewhere. I followed my instincts and after three days of running, we could finally rest. We stopped just before a pack border. I sniffed out the area and howled loudly, making sure that this pack's patrol could hear me.

I then kept running. I pushed my wolf to run as fast as she could. The wind was flying through my fur and I felt like I wasn't even touching the ground. I could hear my Satelles running not far behind me and soon enough, so were other wolves. They growled and snarled but we didn't stop running. I just ran faster and faster.

It felt like de-ja-vu, like I had experienced this already. I kept running through the forest before I broke into a clearing. I slowed down and sat down on my hind legs in the middle of the clearing waiting for everyone to catch up to me. My mate, Ryker, broke through the bushes first and stopped just in front of me. He turned towards the sound of paws beating against the forest floor and crouched down, ready to attack if necessary.

Calypso, Catus, Adis and Tekkon broke through the bushes next and formed a circle around me. They put their back to me and kept me in the middle so that I was protected from any danger.

Soon, more wolves came into the clearing, all pack wolves, and formed a circle around the clearing to make sure we couldn't escape. Catus growled at the fact that we were surrounded, Tekkon gave a deep and ferocious snarl when any of the pack wolves tried to step closer to us. Calypso simply stood on guard and Adis watched all of them carefully.

The pack wolves backed off all of a sudden when a silver wolf walked calmly into the clearing. All of the pack wolves bowed their heads as the silver wolf walked closer to us. My small pack growled at the silver wolf but I barked at them.

'Back off. He's not a threat.' I told them using the mind link.

'How do you know he's not going to hurt you?' Ryker asked.

'Ryker, just trust me and stand down.' He nodded and stood up from his defensive position. My pack opened up the circle as the silver wolf came closer still. Once the silver wolf stood in front of me, he shifted. Surprisingly, he shifted with all of his clothes on.

The man before me stood at about 6 feet 4 inches. He had brown hair and red eyes with a green ring around them. He looked to be around 20 years old. He stared at me for about five minutes before speaking.

"Are you not going to shift in front of your prince?" His voice held a lot of power in it but not enough to scare me. I shook my head and snorted at him.

"I was nice the first time I asked but I am not a patient man. Shift wolf!" I stared at him again and snorted.

'How about you say please and then I shift?' I got into his head and told him. He stared at me incredulously and shook his head.

"Fine. Please shift." He said more politely than the first two times and I nodded in approval. I then shifted and looked down just to make sure I had shifted with my clothes on...I did.

"What is your name?" He asked.

"My name is Moonbeam." He looked at me for a few moments as if waiting for me to say something else before he sighed and shook his head.

"What's your last name?" He asked me and I scrunched up my nose.

"I don't have one. I don't belong to a family so I don't have a last name." He looked curious but he didn't ask about the details.
