Moonbeam's POVBright lights, a lot of movement, and pain. Those are the only things I registered when I opened my eyes.
I shut my eyes again to try and stop the stinging. I slowly opened my eyes, which helped them adjust to the bright lighting in the room.
"How do you feel, Princess?" I looked up at the man in a clean, wrinkle-free, white lab coat. The crinkles around his eyes were more prominent when he smiled at me and faint laugh lines were present.
"I feel.....different?" The doctor gave a hearty laugh and shook his head in amusement.
"Yes, I suppose you would feel a but different after everything that happened."
"What happened?" My memory was quite fuzzy and nothing made any sense.
"What do you remember?" I thought long and hard before answering his question.
"I was....in the ballroom. I was making faces at this snarky, arrogant Vamp and then I was floating. The Moon Goddess was there and then I was on the floor in pain, so much pain."
"Yes. That's just about all of it. Do you remember what the Moon Goddess told you?" I squinted my eyes in deep thought.
"The prophecy. The prophecy and something about it being time but she never said what it was time for."
"Yes. You have excellent recollection for just waking up after a week." He nodded, lost in his own thoughts. He looked at me and shook his head.
"It seems, my dear, that you were finally coming into your full powers but the pain that you had to go through was too much. Your body went into a short comatose to help you adjust. I suspect that you are more powerful now than before but we would have to run test to know for sure. Would you be willing to participate in some quick tests, Princess?"
"Yes, of course. Also, why do you keep calling me 'Princess'?" I slowly sat up and almost collapsed, twice. The third time, the doctor helped me sit up against the wall.
"Well, seeing that you are the King and Queen's granddaughter..." He trailed off.
"Oh! You're a Vamp? That makes sense. Sorry for being so slow. I just woke up from a coma and all so....yeah." He laughed and nodded.
"It's quite alright. Now, there are three tests: speed, strength and knowledge. We will do the fourth, powers, later when you have fully recovered."
"Okay. Sounds good to me."
He helped me sit up fully and then we began the tests.
"Okay. Now, how much could you lift before?" I thought back and shrugged.
"Close to nothing. Only like 20 pounds." The doctor nodded and led me to a weight room.
"Okay. We are going to start with 10 pounds and add 10 pounds slowly, to gauge your arm strength." I nodded.
Every other curl, 10 pounds was added. We kept going until I got to 350 pounds.
"Is that normal or...?" The doctor shrugged at my question.
"You aren't exactly normal so I don't expect your results to be 'normal' anyways." I nodded thoughtfully.
"What's next?" We tested my leg strength next and it went pretty much the same way. I was able to lift 650 pounds with my legs, which was a 550 pound growth.
"Wow. That's exceptional!" The doctor shook his head in disbelief. He led me to a treadmill and told me to get on. He started it on 1 and gradually went up to 10. I was slowly jogging on 10 and it amazed me how great it felt to be running again....or jogging again, I should say.
"Okay. We'll have to build a specialized test for the speed because you can go a lot faster than normal wolves. We'll do that when you are healed completely though." I nodded and we went to a different room.
"Okay, now this room is equipped with state of the art equipment. They help us gauge how book smart and street smart Vamps are. We aren't using the machines for the werewolves because you are part Vampire which means you are smarter than the average wolf....or at least you should be." I ignored the last part and sat down at the computer.
"For this test, you are going to take a mathematical test, a science test, and an English test. The questions will range from 1st grade level to college level. Once you are done, I will see what the results are and we will go from there."
It's safe to say that the tests took me a solid hour to complete all three of them. There were 200 questions per test and all of them were multiple choice. Once I finished, the doctor looked at my results and wrote them down on my file.
"Good. Now we will test your street smarts. This test has about 200 real life scenarios and you have to choose what the best way to handle each situation is. It begins, now."
That test was way easier than the other tests because all I had to have was common sense to answer these questions. Once I finished that, the doctor once again wrote down my results and then led me back to my hospital bed.
"So, everything went exceptionally well. I'm just surprised you have healed fast enough to complete those tests. I'm going to process the results and then I'll be back in about 30 minutes to go over them with you. Sound good?"
"Sounds great. Thanks doc."
"Anytime." After he left, I kind of dozed off. I tried to stay up but I just couldn't. All I remember after that, is waking up to Ryker crying over my body and the doctors trying to calm him down.
"Ryker? What's going on?"
----------------------------------------------------------
Yes, what is going on? Haha. Sorry for the later update but I made time to write this to make up for it. Expect another chapter soon because it's coming up.
