Chapter 3: Back to Work
-
Jumin sighed, stepping into his office and crossing over the polished floor to his desk.
Work.
Again.
He didn't use to dread it this much.
But ever since his first actual rest day that didn't result in going back to work, the black-haired business corporate felt a little more longing for such peace again.
And Seven was there with him, too.
Having company didn't use to be a concern, but now he felt more alone without the redhead in his apartment.
Dang.
What's with me?
Jumin went over to the pantry to get himself coffee, hoping to cool himself down before he started work.
A familiar brunette stepped into the pantry as well and tapped him on the shoulder.
"Oh, Assistant Kang."
Jumin turned around to greet Jaehee.
She nodded.
"Getting coffee?"
Her superior shrugged.
"Just feel like it, I guess."
He stepped away from the counter, and Jaehee got herself her own coffee.
"Luciel sent something over for you, apparently."
"Oh? What is it?"
Jaehee slipped a small, folded piece of paper out of her dress pocket.
"I think it's a note. I didn't read what was inside, for the sake of your privacy."
She handed it over to Jumin, before bowing and taking her leave; along with her coffee.
-
Jumin stood leaning against the counter and sipping his coffee while unfolding the note.
He read the note's contents.
-
"I know you hardly take any off-days, so you can't rest at home all that often. But, anyway! From now onwards, everyday I'll send you a small note like this one.
For today: Please remember to take a break once in a while; Don't overwork yourself. Getting sick won't help you or the company. Actually, take note of this everyday.

P.S. Please try to sleep early.
P.P.S. A 10 seconds "break" does not count as a break."
-
Jumin tilted his head to the side.
A ten seconds break isn't counted as a break?
But even so, he still kept the note securely in his pocket.
It was the first time someone sent something other than a package, or something else expensive.
The note was simple, but it made him feel really, really happy.
-
And so his work ended at nine.
Jumin had followed the instructions (or advice) on Seven's note throughout the day, and now at the end of the day, he still felt refreshed.
He headed home, and soon enough, reached his apartment.
-
Once he was inside his apartment, he made his way into his room and started to change out of his business-wear.
But before closing the door of his wardrobe, he grabbed Seven's note from inside one of the shirt pockets and set it on his desk.
Gazing at it, he felt more relaxed.
Maybe I should buy a jar to put all of his notes inside of.
He decided so, and flopped onto his bed; the note still in his hand.
If only Seven was here...
... It feels so much more lonely now when I'm in this house.
When I'm in this house
Without him.
