Chapter 32: I'm Leaving

Jumin downed the glass of water along with the painkiller his assistant handed to him.

"Thanks."

He coughed out, breathing heavily after which and trying to resume his work.

"You should rest for a bit, Mr. Han."

Jaehee suggested, shrugging.

"That was the worst migraine I've ever seen you have."

She added, picking up her clipboard from the table.

Jumin slumped back in his chair, aware that she was right.

"I'll take my breaks."

He replied.

And then his assistant left the room.

The raven-haired man adjusted his tie and swept his hands over the edges of his suit.

Sighing, he blinked a few times.

I'm still worried.

-

Seven sat back in his chair, unarming himself after the mission was over.

Vanderwood took the chair next to his.

"That wound might need a few stitches, Seven."

The brunette pointed out, eyes fixated on the bleeding wound in the redhead's shoulder.

Seven grunted, trying to ignore the pain in his shoulder.

"It's not that serious..."

He insisted, turning his face away from Vanderwood.

The redhead sighed.

Right now, I just want to see him.

I don't care about anything else.

I just want to run into his arms and get that warmth that can never be compared with anyone else's.

He's right.

I'm dense.

I need him so much.

I can't believe I only realized it after he told me his feelings.

The redhead hid his face behind his hands and tears began to stream down his face.

Vanderwood looked over at him and was alarmed at the sight.

Unsure of what to do, the latter handed the redhead a whole box of tissues sitting on the meeting table.

"T-tissue! Hey, I'm not good with people crying in front of me..."

The brunette stuttered out, holding out the box of tissues.

Seven continued to cry, not bothering about the tissues held out for him to use.

"I'm really stupid... How could I have not noticed?"

He muttered out, the tears staining his cheeks.

"Whether I be with him or not, he'll still get worried... Even I can't stop that! But me having this kind of a dangerous job - It's just going to make him worry even more."

The redhead wiped his tears, sniffling.

"I don't even think I can do this job anymore, Vanderwood."

He whimpered, turning to the brunette.

Vanderwood furrowed his brows in frustration.

"I don't know, Seven. You're one of our best agents, in the first place! Not in combat, but we need your hacking skills."

He stated, averting his gaze.

"But ever since you got involved with Jumin Han, you've got more to worry about."

Vanderwood finished, unsure of what to say or do.

Seven let another tear fall.

"Look, this is it. I finally realized it, okay? This job terrorizes my relationship."

The redhead said finally, crossing his arms.

"That wouldn't have mattered if you didn't have a relationship in the first place!"

Vanderwood argued.

Seven grit his teeth.

"I'm not listening to all this nonsense, Vanderwood. I promised him that we'd face these kind of problems together, but this job isn't putting us as close as we need to be to solve these kind of things together."

The redhead snapped.

Vanderwood yanked him by the collar.

"Stop running away from the real problem! The truth is, you joined this agency because you were a coward, right? You left your brother behind with his mother just to hide yourself with a new identity!"

The brunette yelled, frustrated.

Seven's eye twitched.

"Now you've done it, Vanderwood! I'm tired of argueing with you and things aren't getting any better. That's right, I was a coward and I ran away from the problem, even while trusting my brother to be in good hands in the end! And you have a problem with that?"

He asked, challenging the brunette to say anything more.

When Vanderwood didn't, the redhead huffed.

"Many agents in this agency are here for this same reason. Stop comparing me with them."

He growled, tugging himself away from Vanderwood's grasp.

"I'm leaving. You can tell the team leader when he comes into the meeting room or whatever. The word will get to him eventually, anyway. No matter what any of you say, I have a better reason why I should leave."

He finished, getting up from his seat and making his way to the door.

Vanderwood looked up at him.

"And what the hell is that reason?"

He taunted.

Seven shot him a glare.

"I love Jumin."

He replied, turning his back after which and leaving the room.

Vanderwood growled.

"That's an absurd reason, Seven. Especially one coming from someone like you."

The brunette spat, banging a clenched fist on the glass table.

"Just wait. Your reason already proves that you've broke one of the agency's rules.

They'll never accept this reason."
